Hello Harika,
Nanotechnology is an subject which essentially combines Physics, Chemistry, Bio-informatics Bio-technology, etc.India is making dedicated efforts to match up the countries in this field. So,there is a great demand for students with M. Tech in nanotechnology. The career prospects are also bright as number of industries and laboratories in India and overseas need experts from this field. To get into an M. Tech course, a degree in Physics, Chemistry or Biotechnology is necessary. The Institutes which provide Nanotechnology courses are-: *Jawaharlal Nehru Center for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore. *Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. *National Physical Laboratory, Delhi. *National Chemical Laboratory, Pune. *Central Scientific Instruments Organization, Chandigarh. *Defence Materials Store Research & Development Organizations, kanpur. *Indian Institutes of Technology at Kanpur, Chennai, Guwahati, Delhi and Mumbai. *Amity Institute of Nanotechnology (AINT), Noida( Uttar Pradesh ) *Biosys Biotech Lab & Research Centre, Chennai( Tamil Nadu ) *Indian Institute of Science : Center of Excellence in Nanoelectronics (CEN), Bangalore *Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal( Madhya Pradesh ) *National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela( Orissa ) *University of Madras : School of Physical Science, Guindy( Tamil Nadu ) *Amritha Centre for Nanosciences (ACNS), Kochi( Kerala *Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology : Dept. of Bio-Nano Technology, Hisar *Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University), New Delhi( Delhi ) *National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra( Haryana ) *Sastra University : Centre for Nanotechnology & Advanced Biomaterials (CeNTAB), Thanjavur( Tamil Nadu ). |

About Nanotechnology:
Nanotechnology is derived from the combination of two words Nano and Technology. Nano means very small or “miniature”. So, Nanotechnology is the technology in miniature form. It is the combination of Bio- technology, Chemistry, Physics and Bio-informatics, etc. Scope & application of Nanotechnology: The scope and application of nanotechnology is tremendous and mind-boggling. According to the scientists, 21st century would be the nanotechnology century. It is estimated that nanotechnology would revolutionize every area, be it medicine, aerospace, engineering, various industrial and technological areas, health or any other field. Nanobiotechnology can make tiny medical devices and sensors with fantastic military and civilian use. Converting sunlight into power, targeting a drug to a single malignant cell, cleaning ponds and creating sensors in the form of biochip, to be interested in the human body are some of the important landmark breakthroughs of nanotechnology. The technology has the potential to produce garments which can block chemical and biological weapons from touching the skin of a person. List of Nanotechnology colleges in india: 1.
