Is it true that distance mode diploma is not valid anymore?
Dear Sir/Mam, I have come to know from some sources that distance education in engineering( both diploma and degree) is not valid now. Is this true? If yes then what can be a alternative process to pursue my education? I cannot afford regular classes as I am working as a technician in a company. And if the above mentioned information is a rumour, then what are the approved institutes in west bengal to pursue distance education in electrical diploma? Kindly fulfill my queries. Will be very grateful to you.

Re: Is it true that distance mode diploma is not valid anymore?
Yes, whatever you have heard is right. Distance diploma and bachelor's degree in technology is not approved by All India Council for Technical Education. There are some institutes which offer distance diploma and degree but they are not approved by AICTE and hence not valid.
There is no other option, you will have to pursue regular diploma. Make sure your institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education. |

It is true, distance diploma are not approved by All India council for Technical Education.
Any technical course which is not approved by AICTE is not valid for government job or higher technical course. You will have to pursue regular diploma at any cost. |

Re: Is it true that distance mode diploma is not valid anymore?
AICTE has never approved distance mode engineering diplomas and degrees. Only regular diploma and degree in engineering streams will be valid for any government jobs.
In private sector, it depends on the company to decide, whether a distance mode diploma is valid or not. |
