I am diploma holder, from computer science & engg. I want to do AMIE but i d'not know about AMIE as like what is AMIE and In AMIE how i get admisson. so please give me full information.

Hey friend,

AMIE is conducted by Institution of Engineers and this is conducted for candidates to join in either of the two process such as:

1. Technical
2. Senior Technical

And as you have mentioned that you have completed Diploma from Computer Science you will be eligible for joining in Senior Technical process as for the Senior Technical the education qualification which you would need is that the candidate must have 3-year Polytechnic Diploma or its equivalent, in any branch of engineering is eligible.

To get admission in AMIE first you must get a membership in it from http://www.amiestudycircle.com and download the form.Take a DD and it must be drawn in favour of "The Institution of Engineers (India)" payable at Kolkata.

Fill the form and take a printout of it.Click on Payment Gateway and do the transaction.Take print of receipt which appears after making payment.Keep a Xerox copy of filled up exam form and DD for future reference.

AMIE stands for Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers.

AMIE candidates are also eligible for the Engineering Service Examination. Those who have passed sections A and B of the examination of the Institution of Engineers India are eligible to apply for the Engineering Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

The eligibility for admission in AMIE are following:-

-The candidate must be an Indian.

-The candidate age should be in between 21 years to 30 years on 1st August of the year of Examination.

The notification of Examination is published in the month of January/February and the exam is conducted in the month of June/July.

The Examination is consists of
Paper I (Objective type)
General Ability Test
(Part A: General English)
(Part B: General Studies)

Papers II & III (Objective type)
Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Electronics & Tele-Communication Engineering

Papers IV & V(Conventional Type)
Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Electronics & Tele-communication Engineering.
