Can I apply in IIT as a minority student if my father's income is 2 Lacs p.a.?
hello
i belong to general muslim bit my father income is only 2lakh/annum can i claim for minority status in iit???? please help me |

You can apply for IIT. There is no any relaxation for minority or majority student in IIT. Any Indian Nationalist can apply for IIT. But, there relaxation only on the basis of cast. If you are an OBC or SC/ST student in Minority or Majority, you can enjoy relaxation in admission process. But, here you have mentioned you are a general student So, You can't enjoy the relaxation. For example in IIT MAIN exam qualifying marks for General, OBC and SC/ST are respectively 112, 70 and 45 marks. You can take Scholarship for Minority student given by Central Government for Higher study.
