Nowadays the most demanding engineering stream is Mechanical and after that is CS and IT by the end of this year there are 90000 vacancies in IT sector.
U should follow what u want to be. Don't see which is stream is better or not.

I would say, ECE (electronics and communication engg.), CSE(computer science), IT(information technology)..
These are some of the stream which have the best scope for this present scenario and I feel this will lasts for some decades.

But i would like to advice you, Go for the one at which you are good at and your interest rather than seeing the demanded ones. Because you should enjoy what you study. That is very important.

best stream in engineering is mechanical and electic and electronic . as it offers a large number of jobs in private as well as gov. sectors

every stream is good for engineering. you have to choose that stream in which you have own interest and knowledge. if you are good in any one then you can go so far with this.

but recently there is trend among the student towards electronics and communication engineering. so many student are going to this field. job opportunity and scope both are good for this stream.

mechanical engineering and civil engineering are evergreen branch of engineering. always good scope is available for these stream.

recently computer science and IT is in under the mark. market is not so much good for these branch. as a result a very few number of student taking information. so i think after three or four years there will be shortage of computer engineer. but the demand will be very high because then market will be good. so i think it is better to choose this stream.

there are so many branch in which field also very good like aeronautical engineering, chemical engineering, production engineering etc. choose that branch in which you have interest.

In my view evergreen branches as we say , mech,electrical and civil will allwayz be there but depends upon the colleges u choose. But as of now and next 5 years i would suggest you the hybrid branches such as instrumentation or electrical-electronic engineering. So for now u need to think in one direction and choose ur branch. In my thinking the best stream is Computer science ........
So there are thousands of job coming within 5 years in Computer Science.........

But before choosing first preference give to your interest so all streams are goods if u done well and best stream is wastage if u dont like it..........

In engineering mainly there are two types of stream :-
1) Software stream
2) Core stream
In my opinion they are both very in their own respect.
1) Software stream :- Generally two departments are there like Computer sc. & engg. And Information Technology.
Scope in future:-
Now-a-days as recession is going on so it's better to choose core streams. But after 3-4 years it's market value will be much better.

2) Core Stream :- Generally consists of the streams like ME,Civil,EE,ECE,EEE etc. These streams are always among the best streams and have a good future after 4-5 years.

So, as you are asking for the best stream after 4 or 5 years you should go for Computer sc. & engg. or ECE or ME.

dear.......first of i wanna to say that if u have potential and basic knowledge of your subject then u can build up your career in any stream of engineering,for an intelligent student stream doesn't matter.....so if u want to know the best stream then in my pt. of view........electronics n mechanical engineering are evergreen branches....n now petrolium engineering,civil engineeering and electrical engineering are best of them.......but don't forget dat in indai there are 80% companies are software companies..............................so all d very best

Hi friends i think that no one steam is perfect .every stream has its own importants,but i think Michenical & chemical is good stream for next genration in gujrat,but for baglore or pune side it fild is best.

In the current senerio CS,EC,and IT are dominating but we look for future the best branch is Civil because india is a developing country and a lot go construction will took place in near future.
then Electrical as almost every state is lagging in Electricity demand so it will give boost to this branch.
the other branches are mechanical, chemical.

where the bulk people goes in particular branch there only a guy opt to go,

its not a way is now
go with your interest
and if you have interest in a particular field as if you are interested in electrical parts , to repairing n all go for electrical

now comes to your question is which one will be good in next 4 to 5 years right?

as now the scenario is
1.mechanical engineering
2.electrical engineering

but i must say every branch is having its own issue and..god know..as you have seen IT SECTOR goes down without having any prior notice , so any branch can falloff and go on...


so take care of your interest,
don go there where placements and money

go with only interest

I just want to say all branches have their own scope and own field of work so you cannot compare one to another and in case choosing any branch just go for your interest branch..rather than scope of branch.
As if you have knowledge on any subject people will definitely hire you.

In the coming four or five there will be a boom in CS and electronics.Civil also can be in demand cause writenow market are needed engineering graduates in civil but availablity is not much according need.
so chose as your interesting one.

Best branch to be preffered:

Electrical engineering
Electronics and communication
Mechnical engineering
civil engineering
computer science engineering

First of all try to choose the branch in which u are really interested . If u study in that dept with real zeal and interest in that field , the career opportunities will be amazing irrespective of the dept .
Anyway in the present trend Mechanical is the best n evergreen branch in which career opportunities will be more both in the private and public sector .
The main point is for Mechanical Engineering Core jobs are very more as compared with any other branch and it is always evergreen .
So frn I suggest you Mechanical Field if you are interested .

sir, i have done 3 years engg.diploma from i.t,but now i want to do b.tech from electronics.so,is it benificial to go from IT to electronics?and will i get the benifits of both I.T(diploma) and electronics(b.tech) in my job.

Construction engineering will be a better choice than any of the core engineering branches for a developing India led by PM Narendra Modi.

instrumentation has a good future.many forign as well as indian companies recruit to this stream

All the fields has vast opportunities but it depend upon your interest, choose the field according to ur interest and u will yourself create opportunity...but i recommend you to go with CSE as this will be the hot favorite and have got vast job opportunities.
