One can register for the CPT - Common Proficiency Test soon after the completion of their 10th class or 10+2.

But the candidate will be eligible to appear for the CPT exam only after the completion of 10+2. It is an entry level test for the Chartered Accountant course.

Students from all the groups in their 10+2 are eligible to register and there is no minimum percentage of marks is required for the registration.

Registration can be done throughout the year. There is no such thing as a last date for registration. There is no validity period for the registration.

Registration for the course requires the students to apply in the prescribed form enclosing the details relating to the educational qualifications,age etc.

For any details, students may contact the near by Regional Council.

The prospectus of the Institute contains application for registration along with it. The cost of application or the Prospectus for registering to CPT course
By hand : Rs.100/-
By post : Rs.125/-

Common Proficiency Test 2011 application forms duly filled in may be sent so as to reach the Additional Secretary (Examinations) at New Delhi not later than 25th April, 2011. CPT 2011 Applications received after 25th April, 2011 shall not be entertained under any circumstances.

CPT June 2011 Applications duly filled in will be received by hand delivery at the offices of Institute at New Delhi and at the Decentralised Offices of the Institute at Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Pune upto 25th April, 2011. Candidates residing in these cities are advised to take advantage of this facility.

It may be noted that there is no provision for acceptance of application forms after 25th April, 2011 with late fee.

Alternatively the candidate may fill up the CPT 2011 examination application form online at http://icaiexam.icai.org from 4th April, 2011 (10:00 hrs) to 25th April, 2011 (17:30hrs) and remit the fee online by using credit card, either VISA or Master Card.

Candidates will be allowed to opt for Hindi question paper booklets for the said CPT 2011 (Paper-Pencil Mode). Further details will be available in the CPT June 2011 Information Brochure containing the CPT application form 2011.

You can appear at the CPT examination immediately after completing your 12th exams. The CPT exams was held 2 times in a year in the month of june and december.

The registration for CPT course can be done all throughout the year and there is no such last date for registration. The cost of Application or Prospectus for Registering for the CPT Course is 100 rs and the examination fees is 500 rs.
