I am going to finish a BSc in Forensic Science this year and i was wondering how much is the average salary for ballistics.. I will be doing a masters as well. I Live in the UK and i think i will only consider a job in india if there is earnings of over 40,000 a month as that's not a lot in pounds.. i think on average it should at least be £25,000 a year. I have student loans to pay!

All said and done, there is not much scope of forensic science in India. Jobs are very few. Also, as all the people in the forum are saying that you get cyber forensic jobs that is wrong. In case of computer forensic jobs, they prefer M.Tech students rather than M.Sc. Forensic Science students. There are many labs in India like CFSL, CBI but still they prefer basic science students not forensic sciences ones. The course curriculum is also not very much developed in India. Also, the trend now a days is other departments staring forensic science courses e.g. in Kurukshetra University, forensic science is under genetics, same is the case in MDU and in Delhi University the same is run under Anthropology. This is further denting the quality of forensic science in India. My sincere advice to you is to avoid this field. To be frank with you, I have done Ph.d. in fingerprints and have written about 21 research papers in various international journals but I am prsently working as an editor in CRC Press/Florida, US.
