hello sir m doing diploma of computer sci in thapar polytechnic college patiala. It will complete in may 2010. So tell me that which college is good for me...i want 2 get admission in 2nd year of B.TECH (THROUGH LATERAL ENTRY)?

is one of the good colleges

after diploma you can join in btech through lateral entry .. top colleges are iits

there is many college which is very good for computer science department.
so you rank will decides the college.

You appear on AIEEE,WBJEE, like exams then
you Will get good rank
in this exams and take admission in any good college ...
you proceed your study in 2nd year of any Btech/be programme...

Weather Diploma or class 12 passed Entry scheme for Both are same.Both have tp appear for entrance.

For getting into IIT's you have to chrack IITJEE.Form cost filling method and all procedure will be same excet filling the some colunms,dont worry details will be provided in broucher.

After cracking the entrance you will be provided admission to 1st year of B.tech,not 2nd that because niether IIT'S nor NIT's have Lateral Entry Scheme.

dear,
generally students after 12th complete their 17 yrs age....but if you are still 16 then there is no issues regarding it as the minimum qualification required for any further course is 12th with good percentage.......

so you can apply for all the courses......as there were no issues if you pass 12th with 16 yrs age ...then there should be no problem for you in your further studies....

There are many good colleges in india which offer you a lateral entry seat. Let me list out some

Thapar Instiute
Manipal Institute
Anna University

There are top universities in india which provide lateral entry. So i think you should go for these. These colleges have their own entrance exam to admit student through lateral entry.

So prepare well for these colleges and if you could get through any of them it would be great.

Non dear !

For persuing B.tech first you have to appear for entrance exam, and all entrance exams have minimum age limit is of 17 years.If your age is less then 17, then you can not appear for entrance and therefore cant get admission.

Suppose If you are taking admission in 2010 then you must have attend the age of 17 years till 30.12.10.

So, if you wont able to complete your 17 years before you will probably not get admission.

For diploma holders the questions will be divided as follows:
Maths: 30 questions
Physics: 10 questions
Chemistry: 10 questions

If we tlak about B.tech from Lateral Entry then at the TOP I would like to list

Calcutta University, I can guess it will be little shocking to you, but its true. Admission to CU is direct for Anyone who had based there B.sc with at least 60%. However, there some terms and conditions in some course in which students of CU are only eligible, but rest of ok.

CU has developed great Engineers of India, who are presently working and running the some India's TOP organisations like- HAL, ISRO, DRDO, CERN, Army/Navy/Airforce etc.

Among them DRDO and HAL has higher rate of success.

Then comes institutes like-

JU
BESU
PTU
LPU
Thapar University
JMI
MIT, Bhagalpur
MIT, madras
MIT, mumbai
AMU.

How may seats are there in B.Tech(Civil) throuigh laterial exam after completion of diploma in civil.

Yes you can apply but JEE doesnt have lateral entry. Instead they admit to 1st year instead of second year

So think about it otherwise you can apply for those colleges which consider lateral entry

Hi friend....
There are so many colleges which offers lateral entry seats through the entrance exam..you havent mentioned the place you want to study..
Anna University and manipal University are good colleges..So be prepared for their entrance exam..It would be helpful for me to provide the information about the good colleges if you mentioned the place..

yes you can apply for JEE but there is no lateral entry procedure on this and you can go for ist year admission only

First of all niether IIT's nor NIT's have lateral Entry to 2nd year of B.Tech. Even a diploma holder who is getting in through JEE like- AIEEE, IITJEE have to take admission into 1st year and also have to study whole 4 years.

Diploma holder can find Lateral Entry into 2nd year of B.Tech only through some state level entrance conducted by state government for the same purpose. Often some private institutes also provide Direct admission to 1st class diploma holder, while few conducts its own little entrance for the same purpose.

For example- West Bengal conducts JELET for lateral entry scheme.

Various institutes in ?Bangalore provides direct admission Like- AIMS, Oxford etc.

there are very few colleges which provides admissions through lateral enteries but they are provided by some govt. aided colleges of uttaranchal and also delhi college of engineering as well.

but if you want to take admissions into some nit's iit's or iiit's than for that you have to reappear in the exam ..

but now you can't apply for iit's but you can apply for aieee since 3 attempts are allowed in it ...

you can do your btech degree from west bengal university of technology.there have number of very good colleges under this university.so through JELET(JOINT ENTRANCE LATERAL ENTRY TEST) you can do btech after your diploma...

the good college i think so is jiit (jaypee) it is located in good area and has good placements
