I would like to suggest each one of you that Microbiology is the best option. You can learn so many things in Microbiology such that you could apply all those things in future. If you are taking Microbiology in B.Sc means continue the same as in M.Sc., So many things are there to learn and apply. Even i completed my M.SC in Microbiology only and i'm going to continue the same. All the best to each one of you.

Is any govt.job available in biotechnology ? It is adavantageous or not?

There is no much difference for Biotechnology and Microbiology.

Biotechnology is all about developing human beneficial products with advanced techniques and by using micro organisms.

Microbiology is all about studying of various kinds of microorganisms.

As far as the scope is concerned, Biotechnology is rapidly developing one. Many people instead of going to Microbiology, they are willing to take Biotechnology.

In recent times, Bio-informatics has also came into picture. This is the field where the efficient people are in lack of.

You may choose this one as an alternative.

But as your B.Sc is from Microbiology, already you have gained some knowledge in Microbiology. So if you choose MSC in Microbiology,this will become an added advantage for you.

Both M.Sc in Microbiology and Bio-technology has wide scope in India.

Microbiology is all about studying of various kinds of microorganisms.

Biotechnology is all about developing human beneficial products with advanced techniques and by using micro organisms.

But current survey displayed that more and more students are opting for Bio-Technology.

As It is a field that involves engineers, biologists, and many other such professionals. Now a days it demand is very high.

Microbiology focus into prevetion and treatment of diseases. In microbiology you will be studying about fungi viruses, protists and bacteria. After completion of M.Sc(microbilogy) you may go on to careers in medicine or if you study further PhD. it may lead you to scientific jobs. As a fresher you will be working as a loboratory assistants and research microbilogists.

Biotechnology deals in finding the biological process of microbes in animals including human beings and plants.Biotechnology students are absorbed by the companies involved in research and devlopment programme related to human beings and plants.

The career prospects for both are very execellent. India will alone create 20000jobs in this sector and so the future for microbilogist will be very much in demand. Since, you are doing your graduation in microbilogy no doubt you should carry the same subject for your higher degrees.

hi frens, iam Narayan Dutt Pant;doing pg in medical microbiology in bpkihs ,dharan ,nepal.according to my knowledge both msc in biotechnology and microbiology are equally good.but in case of nepal microbiology will be better bcs there are only a few opportunities to do after msc biotechnology in nepal.but if u passed pg in microbiology from any medical college u will get job as lecturer in medical college very easily and will have at least 40000 salary per month.further more if u do residential course from any college u will be so skilled that u can work any lab in the world.again if u do phd in microbiology then there is unlimited scope.if u need more information then u can contact 9749008524 or [email protected]

1stly i will appreciate your concern and understand your problem very well as this is a very crucial decision to make as for me i will stick to a specialized field and i think microbiology is the answer , look i have came across the same question time and again and i have seen lots of my friends as well as the members over here facing the same problem over the period of time but as a matter of fact my suggestion to all of them is very simple and basic.. but here i will like to explain you a bit further .. look both the fields are good but i will still say you too stick to microbiology because it has a solid and undisputed reason behind it which you can confirm with your teachers biotechnology is a field which has multiple disciplines and following it has a big problem you have to study for too long period and then in the end you will have to be specific with your field in which you want tomake a career or persue research further as now my dear the world is full of skilled and trainned professionals and each one seems to be master in his/her oown field but biotechnology is jack of all trades but master of none till you do specific PHd in some subject out of biotechnology,,i hope you are getting my point , so i will say you to do microbiology and by doing so you will be restricted to a specific field but will not have any confusions for long as what is your specialization but by doing biotechnology you may face such problems ,, i hope this is enough for you to make a independent decision as it is your decision which counts not my suggestion ,, but still glad to help you out and will always be if any further doubt persists in your mind, bye

I completed my M.Sc in Microbiology.anow i am working in a chemical manufacturing company in a QC.My field is totally changed.But i want to further continue with my career.i am confused for future direction.As i am a girl ,i may hav restrictions after marriage so industrial job might b hectic for me.But my intrest is in this filed only.The confusion is dat TEACHING is alos good and safe for girls.But i m confused to go .I am not studious person.I was an average student.So not vry good in studies too.So just tell me wht shud i do?

I think B.sc biotechnology is better than micro,b'coz biotech has more scope than micro.
Microbiology is a part of biotechnology,so biotech have broad area.I want say u that if u are interested in micro than do it don't go with any one's answer go with your interest.
It will help u in future.
