Yes ofcourse..Everything is mechanical only. Wherever you study Mechanical Engineering, you can get job. Its not only IITs,NITs,BITS,VIT. Even now, Mechanical is being given higher preference next to ECE and CS in Anna University Counselling. So, dont worry and do mechanical in any college where good companies are visiting for campus placements. All the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

both the fields are good.

Earlier, civil was bit down but with time its condition has improved alot and as the infrastructure sector is improving, you can expect good salary after doing Civil from good engineering college.

Mechanical is ever green branch. You will get good placement if you do it from good college

in short, it depends on your interest and kind of future you want, both are good, both are core engineering and both pay you good and has good future.
