What about career in mechanical enggineering and what about the placements

mechanical engineering would be a very good career prospect especially when the IT market is not at its peak.
As for placements the are many national as well as mulltinationals providing placements.

Private sector enterprises like Tisco, tatasteel, telcon ,trs , vedanta and many other require mechanical engineers.

Yes ofcourse..Everything is mechanical only. Wherever you study Mechanical Engineering, you can get job. Its not only IITs,NITs,BITS,VIT. Even now, Mechanical is being given higher preference next to ECE and CS in Anna University Counselling. So, dont worry and do mechanical in any college where good companies are visiting for campus placements. All the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

career option in mechanical engineering is tremendous. A mechanical engineer who has a minimum knowledge in the subject can also easily get a job in a private firm.
a point to be noted is that the remuneration for a fresher in this trade is comparatively smaller than other stream but with the increase in the experience your value increases exponentially

Placements depend on the college you complete your engineering.

If you do your engineering in mechanical you can obtain jobs in Govt., Research organisations like ISRO,NASA etc.,

And as Automobile industry is on rise in India you can achieve job easily if you maintain a good percentage.

are you asking this question only for quarry or you are telling all that you are a mechanical engineering students.i think this is a question that any one from 18 to 80yrs of age who will give reply.

at the begining of engineering there are three stream civil,mechanical and electrical.after chemical growth in everyday human life then chemical engineering introduced.so obiviously mechanical engineering is a good stream and well prospective stream.you also get various opening for this stream in future.placement is in everywhere.every industry needs a lots of mechanical engineer.so do not bother.just work hard on studies.
