Re: Am I eligible for EAMCET for MBBS course? What is the upper age limit for that course?
EAMCET is the entrance exam for MBBS which is conducted by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (Hyderabad) on the behalf of the APSCHE. Based on this exam the candidates are offered admission in Andhra Pradesh MBBS colleges.
Eligibility 1. You should of Indian Origin. 2. Must have passed 12th from Andhra Pradesh. 3. Physics, Chemistry and Maths should be subjects in 12th. 4. The minimum age limit is 17 years. This makes you eligible for the EAMCET exam but you can not appear for the exam for MBBS in 2013. It is because EAMCET would be scrapped and replaced by the NEET entrance exam. From next year (2013), there would be single MBBS exam in the country. What this means is no AIPMT, AFMC etc. Whether you are seeking admission in government colleges or private colleges, you will have to appear for the NEET entrance exam. National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Neet) would be conducted from next year for MBBS and BDS. Therefore I will suggest you to prepare for NEET exam instead of EAMCET which would be scrapped. The Andhra Pradesh government has already announced that EAMCET would get replaced from next year. Medical Council of India has also accepted NEET entrance exam. The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Neet) would take place on May 5, 2013 for the first time. So far that is all we know about the NEET entrance exam. There is no information of eligibility criteria however it is believed to be same as other entrance exams. The exam pattern and syllabus for NEET is also not available as for now. If you are interested in MBBS, then I would suggest to start following news around the exam on internet. Soon more details about the exam would be revealed by the government. |
