Upper age limit for JIPMER MBBS exam

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research is
the all India Level entrance examination conducted for the admission
into MBBS program.

Education Qualification
Candidates should be 10+2 passed from a recognized board with physics, chemistry , biology and English and should have obtained at least 50% marks in PCB.
If the candidate belongs to reserved categories like SC / ST / OBC /PD
then 40% is required.
Candidates appearing in 10+2 can also apply for the entrance test.

AGE LIMIT
Candidate applying for the JIMPER examination should not have age
less then 17 years.

1. For General Candidates = 17 Years to 22 Years

2. For OBC Candidates = 17 Years to 25 Years and

Eligibility conditions for jipmer exam:

Essential: you must be a resident Indian national; should have studied and completed your course in the schools located in India in the preceding two years

Applicants should have been born on or before 01st January, 1995

Educational: Applicant should have passed higher/senior secondary examination (10+2) with minimum 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and a pass in English for UR and 45% for UR-OPH and 40% for SC/ST/OBC

Entrance examination: JIPMER uses paper-based test administration (MCQ) for merit listing the candidates for the above admission

Candidate has to appear for entrance examination to be conducted by JIPMER in 12 centres around the country on 05th June, 2011, 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

Application-cum-prospectus for MBBS course 2011 session can be obtained by one of the following methods

From the counter of state bank of India (SBI), JIPMER campus from 09th March, 2011 to 25th April, 2011 (4.00 p.m.)

Postal request to Professor, Academic, JIPMER from 06th March, 2011 to 18th April, 2011 accompanied by a demand draft for Rs 1000/- for UR/OBC and Rs 650/- for SC/ST (should attach a copy of attested SC/ST certificate) drawn in the name of accounts officer, JIPMER payable at Pondicherry

Two labels with candidate’s address written legibly must be enclosed

On-line submission through JIPMER website from 06th March, 2011 to 18th April, 2011

However online applicants have to send the printout with necessary enclosures so as to reach on or before 25th April, 2011, 4.30 p.m.


Applicants desirous of obtaining a model question booklet of the JIPMER MBBS entrance examination may add an additional amount of Rs 100/- to their demand draft along with A4 sized self addressed envelope

JIPMER will not be responsible for any postal delay

Duration of JIPMER 2011 MBBS Courses : Duration of the course is 4 years and 6 months as per the Academic Calendar of Pondicherry University followed by 1 year of Compulsory Rotatory Internship.

Maximum age for JIPMER-2011

According to prospectus there are no upper age is given.
For JIPMER exam the minimum age is 17 years at the time of admission.
i.e they should have been born on or before 01/01/1995.

What is the procedure for Foriegn Students seeking admission to JIPMER for the MBBS programme in 2013 batch?Is London A Levels (EDEXCEL) recognised for the purpose of admissions?Will a prospective candidate holding the Overseas Citizen Of India status (OCI) with London A levels qualification be eligible to apply?Will this be adequate to appear for the admission test.?

The eligibility criteria for JIPMER -
1. you have to pass 12th with at least 50%(relaxation of 10a5 available for sc/st/obc)
2. you have to pass the 12th from any recognized board.

So there is no upper age limit for the exam .
The lower age limit is 18 years .

for appearing in this exam you must have to complete your 12standard with PCB group with minimum 50%.(10% of relaxations for SC\ST candidates).
