Am I eligible for IAS test after graduating from distance education?
Dear sir,
its pawandeep here, i want to know that a candidate having graduation degree through distance education is eligible for uas test or nt? plz reply as soon as possible. |

Hi,
Yes you are eligible for the IAS exam after completing graduating with distance education. IAS stands for Indian Adminstrative Service. This exam conducted by the upsc once in a year. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The candidate should be citizen of india. The candidate should complete the graduation from any recognized university. There is no minimum percentage of marks required to eligible for this exam. The final year pursuing candidates are also eligible for this exam. The age limit should be between 21 to 30 years. 3 years age relaxation fro the obc candidates. 5 years age relaxation for the sc/st candidates. Both male and female candidates are eligible for this exam. The no of attempts General category-4 attempts OBC-7 attempts SC/ST- No limit of attempts The candidate should be physically fit for this exam. IAS eligibility criteria:
It does not really matters which stream you belong to as they just look for graduates in any discipline from a recognized university. Your age should be between 21-30 years. Yes , definitely you are eligible for IAS test even if you have completed your graduation through distance education because the academic qualification you require to appear for IAS exam is you must have completed your graduation in any stream from any recognized college / university , no matter you have completed your graduation through regular course or distance course. The eligibility criteria for IAS 2012 is:
Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification . |

My friend as long as your college is recognized there should be no problem. Candidates with distance education degree are also eligible for Indian Administrative Service. So do not worry and apply for the Civil Service Examination.
The Civil Service Examination for Indian Administrative Service is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. IAS has to implement policies of the state governments. IAS officer also has to ensure that funds are being used properly and there are no irregularities. IAS Eligibility 1. You should be Indian citizen. 2. Bachelor degree in any stream. 3. Of course!!!! You are eligible for this examination on the basis of the educational qualification needed for this civil service examinations,. This civil service examination is conducted by the union public service commission (UPSC) every year,. And its eligibility criteria is a graduation degree from a recognized college, in any stream. So, no matter how you complete your graduation , either as a regular student or a distant learner. You just have to posses a graduation degree. So, you are eligible for this examination., IAS stands for the INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES ,.. Through this civil services examination , one can apply for IPS (INDIAN POLICE SERVICE), IRS (INDIAN REVENUE SERVICE), IFS (INDIAN FOREIGN SERVICES ) etc etc . Selection procedure-- 1. The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recongnized university
Final year degree students who will obtain degree by August 1, 2013 are also eligible for CSAT 2013 The degree can be of any class (distinction, first, second etc.) Degree obtained by distance education/open university is also eligible if the university is a recognized university |

As there is no specification that one can apply for IAS being a Graduate through regular studies, so after Graduating from Distance Education one is eligible for IAS.
IAS - Indian Administrative Service and to become an IAS officer one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. If the University from which you have completed is recognized by the Distance Education Council then you are definitely eligible to apply for IAS Examination.
Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University is the basic requirement for IAS examination. Age Limit : General Category - 21 to 30 years OBC Category - 21 to 33 years SC/ST Category - 21 to 35 years Exam Pattern: The selection will be based on a three tier based examination. -Preliminary Exam -Mains Exam -Interview Number of attempts for General and OBC category is limited with 4 and 7 attempts respectively. Candidates complete any one degree on recognized university. age limits are 21-------30 years. 3 years relaxation on BC/MBCs. 5 years relaxation on SC/STs. 10 years relaxation on physical ability candidates 4 attempts are allowed on General category, 7 attempts are allowed in BC/MBCs. unlimited attempts on SC/STs. |

along with ias upsc conducts exam for indian police services indian forest services eligibility criteria : minimum graduation from a recognized college either correspondence or regular both the degrees are equally valid so as you have completed graduation from correspondence college even though you are eligible for ias exam age limit is 21-30 years 3 years relaxation for obc students 5 year relaxation for sc/st students selection process : prelims mains interview good luck |
