Am i eligible for IPS after having an eye sight of -8.5
Actally,Iam having the eye sight of -8.5 and my vision is 6/6 am I eligible for IPS?

But your age should be in between 21-30years for general candidate. In IPS exam their is provide age relaxation for OBC candidate is 3years and for SC/ST candidate is 5 years. The maximum attempts for Sc/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years. Also you must be citizen of India. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. The correction is by lenses only. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic. Blood pressure (High) – Age 23 – 123, age 24 – 124, age 25 –122, age 28 – 124, age 30 –125, age 32 – 126, age 34 – 127. Ear- good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment should not be more than 30 decibels. Nasal- candidate should not stammer while speaking. #### From my point view you are not applicable for IPS exam because of your eye-sight problem. I.P.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year and the eligibility criteria for the same is as under-
1. The candidate must pass the graduation from recognized university with minimum 50% marks. 2. You must be a citizen of India. 3. The age limit is as under- For open category:-21-30year For OBC category :- 21-33year For ST/SC category:-21-37 year 4. The number of attempts are- For open category:- 4 For ST/SC category:-7 The candidate must be physically fit and in case of eye sight you should have 6/6 or 6/9, as it is considered as good eye sight.Contact lenses or Laser operations are not allowed. |

i have an eye sight 0f ( - 1.75) on both the eyes.......am i eligible for ips.......i like to do lasik surgery...anyone tellk me out......help me to take a decision...lasik is allowed

![]() ![]() hai, Eyesight :- Your Eyesight should be 6/12 / 6/9 distant vision for worse eye and You should have 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. Height :- For Male candidate :- Your height should be 165 cm For Female candidate :- Your height shoul be 150cm Relaxation will applicable for SC/ST and OBC candidates , Male :- 160cm / Female :- 145cm . Chest :- For Male candidates :- 84cm and in Expansion :- + 5cm For Female candidates :- 79 cm and in Expansion :- +5cm. Weight :- You should be Physically as well as mentally for fit for the IPS Examination You should have capable to run 10kms in 60mins as welll as rope climbing etc.. If your eyesight is 6/6 after wearing glasses then you are eligible for IPS post.
You must not have color blindness if you want to apply for IPS examination. The other requirements for IPS are as follows: -You must have a Graduation Degree from a recognized university. -Age should be between 21 to 30 years if you are General Category candidate. -There is age relaxation available for other categories based on government rules. -The number of attempts of IPS exam will be as follows: General Category- 4 attempts OBC Category- 7 attempts SC/ST Category- No limit The selection as an IPS officer will depend upon your performance in the following tests: -Civil Services Aptitude Test -Civil Services Mains Exam -Personal Interview If you score good marks in above exams and you are high on merit then you can become a IPS officer.
