Sir is there any pshysical requirements for those who are appearing for ias exams

There is no Physical requirement for IAS exam..

There is age limit...that you have to maintain :

Age limits :


21-30 years as on 1.7.2011. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories as specified in Para 3(ii) of Notice).

Focus on your age and education qualification..

eligibility criteria for ias services:-

**IAS stands for Indian administrative service.

**educational qualification is graduation in any stream from any recognized university.

**age limit is 21 to 30years for general candidates and 4 attempts.

**age limit is 21 to 35years for sc/st candidates and no limit to attends.

**age limit is 21 to 33years for obc candidates and 7 attends.

then apply union public service commission exams in every year.

it has two exams

1,civil service aptitude test(csat)

2,mains exams

There is no Specific Physical standard for IAS exam.

IPS exam Some specific Physical standard;-


Physical Standard;-

Height;-

Male 165 cm and ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm

Female 150 cm (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm

Chest :

Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.

Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm.
