Re: Lost my Left Eye in an Accident : Can I become an IPS officer?
Hello dear
It seems to difficult eyes are major criteria in entrance like IPs here are the information Eye sight – 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. The correction is by lenses only. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic. i think you will not be eligible for IPS. you may try for other exams like civil services. all the best |

Re: Lost my Left Eye in an Accident : Can I become an IPS officer?
Hi
Its not possible for you to apply for the IPS exam. As for IPS exam the candidate should be physically fit and have not any problem or disease. So you are not eligible for the IPS exam. As you know Indian Police Service exam is one of the prestigious exam for the selection of officers in Indian Police. So for the police officer a candidate should be physically fit. For the IPS exam a candidate eye is corrected at 6/6 or 6/9 for distant vision. And both the eye should be correct. So you are not eligible for the IPS exam. So its good to try for some other exams like JTO and all. As you are a engineering student so there are lots of other job opportunities available for you. GOOD LUCK |

Re: Lost my Left Eye in an Accident : Can I become an IPS officer?
Sorry friend you can not apply for Indian police service examination as the main eligiblity requirement for IPS is physical fitness ,that too Eyesight is most important.
Eye sight should be- 6/6 or 6/9 for good eye and 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.Near vision j1 for good eye, j2 for worst eye. No inherent night blindness. Even colour blindness is not allowed. Though surely you can opt for other civil service examination like IAS,IFS. There many other government jobs that you can apply for. For further information check the UPSC official site at http://www.upsc.gov.in/ All the Best |

Quote:
Sorry to say that you are not eligible for IPS exam . because you have lost your one eyes. They want only the candidate who have normal eye sight. So you are not eligible for any force or defense exam. IPS is related to force department. thanks |

Re: Lost my Left Eye in an Accident : Can I become an IPS officer?
I have a squint in right eye and the vision is very low that is i can see the objects with my right eye but cannot read and write with that eye. My Vision is only 10-20% in my right eye. But my left eye is normal with some minor power for which i wear a glass. Am i eligible to work as Probationary Officer in Public Sector Banks?
Kindly reply. |
