As per the guidelines of University Grant Commission, candidates holding a masters degree in Commerce has to appear for Commerce in the National Eligibility Test. Those holding a masters degree in Economics are only considered eligible to take the test in Economics.

So, as per your qualification, you will have to appear for Commerce in the National Eligibility Test in Lectureship. To be eligible to take the National Eligibility Test, conducted by University Grant Commission, you must have scored atleast 55% in the qualifying examination. However, if you belong to SC/ST category, you will be considered eligible to take the test, even if you have scored 50% marks in the qualifying examinations.
