B.Sc degree issued by IGNOU in 2015 is valid for becoming an IAS or an IFS Officer?
Sir,
Is a candidate having passed BSc Degree from IGNOU in 2015 in seven years and have also got re-admission in 2013 as the maximum years for the Degree were over, eligible to become an IAS or an IFS officer. Is this degree, which is issued by IGNOU in 2015, acceptable to UPSC department? |

Candidates who have completed Bachelor's degree course in any discipline from a recognised university are eligible to apply for IAS examination. Since, you have studied B.Sc course in seven years and also got re-admission in B.Sc course, if you complete your Bachelor's degree course before crossing the age limit required to appear in IAS or IPS examination, you can apply for IAS or IPS examination with a valid degree which is issued by IGNOU.
