How to become an IFS officer?


hello..iam from tamilnadu..now only i passed in 12th standard..iam gonna choose engineering...i want to became an ifs officer(indian foriegn service)..pls pls somebody help me..what should i do next to became an ifs officer?

INDIAN FOREST SERVICE EXAMINATION

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Educational Qualifications for IFS :
Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

AGE limit:-
Age must be between 21 to 33 years for General category.
Age must be 21 to 35 for OBC category.
Age must be 21 to 35 for SC/ST category

Number of Attempts:
Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.

IFS (Civil Service Exam) has three stages to be cleared by candidate.
Preliminary Exam
Main Exam
Personal Interview

Application Details:
Notification along with application forms for the Indian Forest Service Examination (IFS) appears in all daily national newspapers and the Rozgar Samachar/ Employment News in the month of January / February.
The examination is held once a year, generally in the month of July.

Yes if you choose engineering you will be allowed to sit for the IFS Exam. Just like IAS and IPS, IFS is also a prestigious civil service exam which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. The notification for this exam is usually released in the month of February. To know in details about this exam please read the information below:-

Nationality:-

## You need to be a citizen of India.

Minimum Educational Qualifications:-

## A degree in any one of the following subject would also do: Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Geology, Mathematics, Zoology, Statistics, Agriculture and Forestry or you can get a degree in engineering from a recognized university.

Age Limit:-

## You have to attain the minimum age of 21 years to give this exam. For general category candidates the upper age limit is 30 years.

Age Relaxation:-

## Age Relaxation is there for the reserved candidates as follows:-

i) SC/ST Candidates: upto 5 years.
ii) OBC Candidates: upto 3 years.
iii) Defense Service Personnel: upto 3 years.
iv) Ex-servicemen: upto 5 years.
v) PHD Candidates: upto 10 years.

Number of Attempts:-

i) For General Candidates: 4 attempts
ii) For OBC Candidates: 7 attempts
iii) For SC/ST Candidates: No Restriction

Exam Pattern:-

## Written Examination is of primary importance when selecting the deserving candidates for this post. This exam is followed by a personal interview session or personality test. Questions for this exam will be of graduation level and it will be mainly descriptive type questions. The total time limit available is three hours and you need to answer all the questions in english.

## There will be six papers to attempt in total and the first two papers are General English and General Knowledge. For the first two paper 300 marks each have been allotted. For the next four papers 200 marks each have been allotted. It is important to pass in the first two papers. On failing to do the rest of the papers won't be checked.

IFS exams are conducted by UPSC every year as civil services exam.

Yes by choosing engineering as your Graduation stream ,you can apply for IFS exam.


Age Limit for UPSC IFS exam:

General - 21 to 30 yrs

OBC - 21 to 33 yrs

SC/ST - 21 to 35 yrs

Defence Personnal - 21 to 33 yrs

Ex serviceman - 21 to 35 yrs

Number of Attempt :

General - 4 attempt

OBC - 7 Attempt

SC/ST - No limit on number of attempt



IFS (Civil Service Exam) has three stages to be cleared by candidate.

Main Exam

Personal Interview

If you want to become a forest officer , the you have to qualify in the IFS Examination.

Nice to see that you're interested in Indian Forest Service ,

To become an Indian Forest Service job then I suggest you to apply for Civil Service Entrance Examination and this Entrance Examination which Conducted by Union Public Service Commission.

This Entrance Examination is held every Once in a year .

In order to take part for the examination an applicant must have cleared Bachelor degree course or It's Equivalent Qualification from recognized university .

Final Semester of Bachelor degree Appearing candidate/ Waiting for Bachelor degree course result candidate can also eligible to apply for this Entrance Examination.

Applicant should having bachelor degree in any specialization like,

-Animal Husbandry
-Veterinary Science
-Mathematics
-Botany
-Geology
-Statistics
-Physics.

But, Only the candidate who Successfully Complete Bachelor degree course without any backlogs are Only eligible to apply for this Entrance Examination.

Pass Mark is Enough to apply for this Entrance Examination.

Candidate age should be More then 21 years and should be Below 30 years at the time of appearing in this Entrance Examination and regarding the Upper age relaxation will be applicable for sc/st candidates and obc candidates .

The Selection procedure for this Entrance Examination is based on Written Examination, Physical Standards, and Interview,.

One the should be Cleared all the three levels in order to get Indian Foreign Service Job.
