Courses Offered: B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering) B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering Post-Graduate Degree Courses in Aeronautical Engineering Eligibility for Aeronautical Engineering Course: In order to pursue a B.E. or B.Tech Course in Aeronautical Engineering in India, one needs to qualify the higher secondary examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. It is also mandatory to qualify in the Joint Entrance Examinations (J.E.E.) which the IIT's conduct in every year. Besides the IIT's there are some other institutes which also conduct entrance examinations for the admission of students. Scope of Aeronautical Engineering Course in India: In India, aeronautical engineers are mostly employed by ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) and the Defence Ministry. One can also look for jobs available with the Civil Aviation Department, National Aeronautical Laboratory, Defence Research and Development Laboratories (DRDO) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Scope Abroad: A lot of job opportunities for aeronautical engineers are also available in the countries like United States of America, France, UK and Germany. Therefore, aeronautical or aviation engineers from India as well as from all other parts of the world flock to these countries. A good percentage of Indians constitute the work force of engineers and technical professionals in NASA. good luck |

Re: Which are the best branches within Aeronautical Engineering?
hello......
For an M.Tech in Aeronautics one needs to have a B.E. or B.Tech in Aeronautics or atleast a diploma in Aeronautical engineering. Another available option is the associate membership exam conducted by the Aeronautical Society of India, clearing which one can apply for an M.Tech or Ph.D. in aeronautical engineering with any of the aeronautical engineering colleges in India. Any student with Physics, chemistry, maths combination in 12th class and a minimum of 50% marks in each subject can appear for the exam conducted by the aeronautics society of India. The exam consists of two sections A and B, and students possessing a B.E. or B.Tech degree are required to appear only for the Section B paper. They are required to clear the "principles of flight" paper of the Section A. This aerospace engineering exam is held twice a year once in June and then again in December. The students who clear the aeronautics entrance exam are given the certificate of being Associate Member of the Aeronautical Society of India which is considered equivalent to a B.Tech in aeronautical engineering. good luck |
