Sir, I scored 30 marks in gate in the branch of electronics and communication. My AIR is 7003. and the gate score is 431 with OBC reservation. Plz suggest me appropriate colleges for m-tech in south India.

your gate score and rank is not good in fact its below average,you may get admission in some college because of your reservation but you will not get the branch whic h you want,

Sorry to say but your overall performance in GATE is not satisfactory.

Your GATE score of 431 is Good but,since you have scored 30 marks in gate in the branch of electronics and communication it is very difficult to get into some good institute.Even when you have OBC reservation.

Your score and AIR are Quite good,and if you percentile will be at least 96% then there is a very good chance for you to get into any of the IIT's or NIT's. Check out if you are getting call letter from any of IIT's or IISc.

But if your GATE percentile will be less then 96% say 80-95% then you can only expeact NIT's and other National Istitutes like-

DCE.
Jadavpur University.
BESU.
MIT.
ETC.

You have done quite well in GATE 2010, but single problem is that you have'nt mentioned your percentile so that we can predict exact for you.

I think your GATE score is enough for getting into NIT's but only if your percentile is not less then 85%

Otherwise lots of Institutes are available for you.

You can 100% expect any one of the NIT's.


Being a OBC candidate with 614 scores and 98 Percentile is a 100% Gaurantee that you will get NIT. Thats because being a OBC candidate 540+ score and 85 Percentile in GATE is the minimum Requirement to get into NIT's as we analyse the last few years Admission and cutoff statics.

Which NIT it cant be said, but I am sure for it.

Yeah you can expect a seat in NIT's.

If you have'nt apply for any NIT's its your fault.

However, besides NIT you can expect some good institutes like-

Hi Balaram,
Your scores are good, First try in NIT warangal if it comes fine if not try JNTU-HYD/Kakinad/Osmania universities. I think the application for counselling in Andhra Pradesh universities through GATE qualification has started. Apply as early as possible. You will definitely get the best because your scores are good, don't worry. All the best.
