Which book to be referred for preliminary exam of IAS? I have finishing my MBBS


sir i have finished my mbbs carrier and intersted in ias.so i want to know which book wii i choose for preliminary examination.

CSAT : Civil Services Aptitude Test


This is the preliminary test to screen out the huge no. of applicants and forward the best brains to the next round in the procedure of Civil Servant selection done by UPSC every year.

The candidates who apply for CSAT like you should be very well prepared about this test.

This will only decide your eligibility and poetential to others.

if you are not able to cleare here you may loose your interest on CSE(Civil Service exam) only

So be well prepared.

Exam pattern of CSAT is it consists of two papers each carrying 200 marks and duration of exam is 2 hours.

Paper 1 contains of subjects.
->Indian History
->General Science
->Economics.
->Indian Politics.
->Currrent Affairs.
->Environment,biosicence.geography.

Paper 2 contains of subjects.
->General Mental Ability.
->Analytical and Logical Ability.
->Decision Making and Problem Solving.
->Interpersonal and Communication Skills.
->English Language and Comprehension skills.
->Basic Numerical Ability.

Good books to follow are

->The Economic Survey of India

->An Introduction to Indian Constitution by D.D.Basu

->NCERT Books.
->India year book
->A wonder that was India by Al.Basham

apart from these you can also look upon general books and newspapers for general knowledge purpose.
prepare well and give a good attempt.

You have completed MBBS course so you are applicable for IAS exam .I have pasted some books name .So please check it out.

Those candidate are graduate from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for IAS exam.

But your age should be in between 22 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule.

The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

Also you must be in citizen in India.

OPTIONAL SUBJECT

You can choose optional subject as your strength .

Economics , Electrical Engineering,Geography, Geology ,History, Law,Management,Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Science, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science and International Relations, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology,Statistics, Zoology, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Anthropology,Botany, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Commerce and Accountancy.

You can choose the subject in sense of your strength .
