Eligibility and books to be referred for IAS Preliminary exam


i am doing my final year engineering..am i elligible for writting ias preliminary xam?if am elligible means suggest me some books with publication name and author name

IAS exam is conducted by UPSC through Civil Service Exam so if you want to go for IAS exam , then you must attend in CSAT Exam.

Those candidate are graduate from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for IAS exam.There is not require any kind of Percentage marks for IAS Exam.

You are now in final year of engineering degree so you are applicable for IAS Exam.

But your age should be in between 21 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule.

The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

The IAS selection process is consist in three way

1)Preliminary exam(This Exam is based on Objective type Question Paper)
2)Main exam (This Exam is subjective type)
3)Inter View.

about my view .the books you prefer is also good
in this type of exam only consistancy is required

No Minimum Percentage Required Only Graduation Is Compulsory

You are now in final year of engineering degree so you are applicable for IAS Exam.

Age : 21 to 30 Years
SC/ST : 7 Year Relaxation

There are three stages in IAS exams.

=> Civil Service Aptitude Test(CSAT)
=> Main Exams
=> Interview

You must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination. The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below:

=> upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST.
=> upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes.

You should have be complete a Graduation from a recognized University
You are age limit between 21 to 30 years

The Eligibility Criteria for IAS Exam are :

* You must have completed your graduation from any recognized college/university.

* Your age should lie in between 21-30 years.

* There is also a relaxation in upper age for candidates of reserved categories as per the govt. rules.

* You must have Indian Citizenship.

Sir i am studying mechanical engineering first year.my ago is to become a IAS officer i have been always thinking about that.what are the books to be prepared for IAS.PLZ suggest the best book bcz i not have enough money to buy all the books
