As you are just a BA First year candidate there is not that necessary to start your serious preparation at this age. and with your immature mind because
If you start right away with the books which are completed related to crack IAS entrance exam then you may get bored up without understanding the concepts clearly

One thing you have to remember is you should not loose your enthusiasm throughout your preparation .

The preparation will only fetch you when you are matured completely interms of mental maturity. You have to understand why a person has to become IAS officer what are his/her Duties that need to be accomplished.

Why you are willing to join as an IAS officer. This examination is not like the pressure full exams like JEE or AIEEE this is the exam where one has to feel responsibility while

Deciding to write the examination.
Preparing to write the examination.
while writing the examination.

In this way at each and every stage you have to feel responsible. So in my view there is no need to sit with books right from this age first of all you have to build interest on the Exam which you will to write in future,

Know about it. Research about it, and Prepare mentally and physically about it.

Then you will know which books to prepare and why to select only that particular book. Why should they not follow other suggested books, and they will also come to know why there is need to select the material on their own.

What all benefits will be there if they select the material and books on their own .

In this way one should strive till they get mental maturity and high constant thinking power.

those are the some who will get selected in The top most jobs of central government in the positions of IAS/IPS etc.,

IAS EXAM HAS THREE STAGES-
1. PRE NOW KNOWN AS CSAT -QUESTIONS ARE OF GENERAL SCIENCES , GK, ENVIORNMENTAL SCIENCES , REASONING AND ANALYTICAL QUESTIONS.
