IIT JEE Exam Details: ~If you are interested in doing B.Tech in engineering/technology/architecture from any one of the IITs in India which are the top rung colleges when it comes to engineering then you have to give the IIT JEE exam which is conducted by the IITs only. Each of the IITs conducts the exam periodically. ~Students from science background can give this exam. You need to have physics, mathematics and chemistry at 10+2 level to sit for this exam. ~To give this exam you need to pass higher secondary examination or its equivalent of a recognized board with not less than 60 percent of marks. There is percentage relaxation for the reserved category candidates. ~Final year students about to sit for their final board exam or awaiting the result of the board exam can also give this exam. They are also eligible. ~For IIT JEE 2013 general category students born on or after October 1987 will be eligible to give this exam. There will be 5 years age relaxation for the reserved category candidates. ~In 2012 IIT JEE exam students had to answer two papers where questions from physics, mathematics and chemistry came. Equal weightage were given to all. Generally objective questions comes for this exam. ~Both the exams will be held on the same day itself and while for the first paper you will get three hours, the second paper needs to be finished within two hours. There will be negative marking for each wrong answer you give. ~IIT JEE and AIEEE will be replaced however by the Joint Entrance Examination where you will be made to answer two papers: JEE-Main and JEE-Advance. In this exam stress will be given more on the marks obtained at 10+2 level. This exam might be held twice a year. Re: Books to be referred to prepare for IIT JEE? I have passed 9th class
You have just passed 8th class therefore it is too early for you to think about IIT-JEE still it will be good if you start preparing for it early.
As you are just in 9th class you need to focus on your concepts. Read the NCERT books of Physics and Chemistry very carefully and just try to build your concepts. You have to read |

Re: Books to be referred to prepare for IIT JEE? I have passed 9th class
Hello Friend,
You have just passed class 9. You need to first concentrate on completing your class 10 exam with good marks. After that only you can think about IIT-JEE and other exams. But as you have asked, the best book to prepare IIT-JEE are as follows: M.L Khanna for Mathematis O.P Aggarwal for General Chemistry Morrison and Boyd for Organic Chemistry H.C Verma for Physics Even though you might not understand most of the things right now but try to understand the concepts rather than trying to learn the problems as it will be of no use. Even if you manage to remember the problems, the problems that will come in IIT would be most probably different. Best wishes.. |

Dear friend,
~> As you have just passed 9th Class, so presently you must concentrate on your 10th Board Examination. ~> That is more important for you now in comparison to IIT-JEE examination (now JEE Advanced Exam). ~> After you have passed 10th Exam with flying colours, then you can start preparation for your Entrance Exams like JEE Mains, JEE Advanced Exam, BITSAT, etc. ~> Some of the best books for preparation of IIT-JEE (now JEE Advanced Exam) are: 13 Years' IIT JEE Solved Papers (2000-2012) (Paperback) by D. C Pandey, R. P Singh, S . C Agarwal Concepts Of Physics (Set of 2 Volume) (paperback) by H C Verma A Textbook of Organic Chemistry for IIT JEE (Paperback) by R. K.
