GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering .This exam is conducted for M-Tech admission , PHD admission and some of the organization recruit the candidate through GATE score.

If you have Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Architecture/Design or its equivalent or masters degree in science department are applicable for GATE Exam.There is no marks criteria.

You have degree in M.Sc in chemistry so you are applicable for GATE Exam.

The GATE examination consists of a single paper of 3 hours time. The question paper consists of only objective type questions.

After getting GATE score you can apply any PSU organization .If you want to go for M-Tech course , then the college list are given below-

yes, you can definitely appear for GATE after your msc. GATE is basically an exam for higher degree like M.Tech or Phd and through this test, you are selected on the basis of your rank to different institutes for pursuing your higher studies.So, you can appear in it. Wish you a good luck.

Yes, those candidate which are doing M.Sc in branch of science are eligible for the GATE exam. And for the M.Sc (Chemistry) students GATE exam code is CY.

And this year GATE 2014 will be conducted by the IIT-K and its date is yet not announced.

GATE is an all India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in Engineering and Technology. GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven IIT's (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The GATE Score of a candidate reflects the relative performance level of a candidate. The score is used for admissions to various post-graduate programmes (e.g. M.E., M.Tech, direct Ph.D.) in Indian higher education institutes with financial assistance provided by MHRD and other Government agencies. The score may also be used by Public sector units for employment screening purposes.

GATE(Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineers) is conducted by NCERT and IIT's to alote admission for MTec and ME coarse after graduation.
Elligbility to appear for GATE(in respective stream) is.
1 A person must be graduate from recognised university.
2 Person apearing in last year may also apply.

Folowing are some facts of GATE.
1 It consist of 1 paper on stream basis of 3hr.
2 Question in paper is objective type.
3 Scores of GATE are valid for 2years.

You can appear in the GATE exam after you MSc in chemistry.The qualification to appear in the GATE exam is either a bachelor degree in engineering or any Master course students,the students who are in the final year of their BTech.

you should submit the copy of certificates listed below

if you Passed in the year 2013 or earlier

1) Degree Certificate/ Provisional Certificate/
2) Course Completion Certificate

if you are Expected to complete in 2014 or later

1) Certificate from Principal
