Dear Friend

You can be a lecturer after M.Sc but it would be better either to complete
your Ph.D. first or complete it after being a lecturer as soon as possible
considering future promotions to assistant professor and then professor.
For being a lecturer you should apply for NET examination which held
twice every year in the month of JUNE and DECEMBER.
The notification for the exam is published in the month of March and September
respectively in all national dailies and Employment News.

Thank You

Yes, you can be a lecturer after doing M.Sc. in statistics.
You will have to appear for the NET examination which is
conducted by UGC.
As there is scarcity of professors in almost every universities
so there is vast opportunity in teaching field.
If you do the Ph.D. during your lectureship you will get promotion
to assistant professor very soon after completion of Ph.D.

As post graduation is not the complete Qualification to become a lecturer as you have to clear the NET exam for the same. After passing this exam you are eligible to apply for the lectureship. So this exam is to be held twice in a year i.e June & december. There are 3 papers in it.Paper 1 & paper 2 are the objective type & paper 3 is the subjective type & all the syllabus is based on your post graduation books. So go through them throughly & appear for the same.

Sure you can become a lecturer. But for that you need to appear for the NET exam. You need choose from the optional subjects for which you need to visit the official website. After clearing the test you need to apply for the lectureship post in various institutes based on the vacancies. It will be good if you take a PH.d after joining any institute.

Hello,
To become a lecturer, you may appear for State Lecturership Eligibility Test (SLET) or National Eligibility Test (NET), conducted by UGC.
The minimum educational qualification required for the exam is a masters degree with a minimum of 55% for general candidates and 50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST category.
SLET qualified cadidates are eligible for appointment to the post of lecturer only in the universities/colleges belonging to the state from where they have passed the SLET exam whereas, NET qualified candidates are eligible for appointment to the post of lecturer in any state of India.
For further information, you may visit the official website of UGC.

Thumbs up Re: Can I become a lecturer after M.Sc. in Statistics?

Hi

Yeah sure you can look up to becoming a lecturer in M.Sc Statistics, if you have done your M.Sc.
Or you can even want to extend the final lap of your academics by doing the Doctorate degree, so that you can have a DR. against your name, and you can run through promotions in any institution you apply for.

The NET - National Eligibility Test i.e organized by UGC- University Grants Commission for the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility for Lectureship in Indian universities and colleges.

I am providing you the important dates :

i) Last date for Applying On-Line 31-10-2011

ii) Last date for receiving the printout of online Application Form (2 copies), Attendance Slip (one copy) and Admission Card (one copy) at the respective test centre opted by the candidate (with fee receipt & category certificate(s) ) 08-11-2011

iii) Exam Date - 24 December 2011.

For any other reference you can visit the following link :

All the best

Regards

Hello,

After MSC in statistic the candidates can get a job in either private or government sector.

If you want to become a lecturer or assistant professor at the university level or want to go in the research field than you can apply for the UGC NET examination.

UGC NET Exam will make you eligible for the junior research fellowship award and to apply as a lecturer in your subject.

Hope it helps!

Good Luck
