i want to become ias officer should i take commerce because i am interested in it

Of course you can choose commerce as your IAS subject. Commerce will help you both in your preliminary as well as in main examination.

Yes dear you can Can give IAS exam with commerce as one of the subject.

You can do whatever degree you want... what i mean is your stream doesn't matter... only thing is that you should have a degree to write IAS. thats all...

IAS Eligibility :

1. You should be a graduate in ANY discipline. Science, Commerce or Arts stream doesn't matter.

2. Your age should be between 21- 30 years for General, 21-33 years for OBC, and 21-35 years for the SC, ST categories respectively.

Since you want to choose commerce, I must tell you that yes you can choose it, as stream doesn't play any role in the IAS exam eligibility criteria.

Yes you can choose any subjecta and according to your interest. Because in which subject are interested and you are fully expert means you will score most and it will be easier for reaching your goal.

Yes, you can take any stream you want..

I.A.S exam exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

Qualification:- Pass graduation with any stream fron recginiced university.

Age limit:-
For Open category:- 21-30 year
For OBC category:- 21-33 YEAR
For ST/SC category:- 21-37 year

Number of Attempts:-
For open category:- 4 attempts
For ST/SC category:- 7 attempts
