The upsc exam for IAS i.e Civil Services Preliminary Examination have been changed and the new pattern will be called the Civil Services Aptitude Test or CSAT.It consists of aptitude and one general paper that will be same for all so this time no chosen subject is allowed.no need to worry prepare according to new syllabus i.e aptitude and g.k.

hey om cracking in civils is a big task.Up to my knowledge i think there is no subjects related to IT.

First time am taken this IAS exam pls inform me about this....

There are no subjects that are related to IT in this Examination.

The Electronics and Electrical engineers will only get fetched with the subjects that are designed by UPSC.

and also Mech and civil too.

you should the general subjects like

Mathematics (which will be scoring for your.)

Geography.(This is also one more scoring subject)

Psychology (This is a analytical subjects which will be very interesting.)

and some subjects

like history.

and economics according to your interest.

you can choose any subject from the upsc pattern subjects.since you are from it backround you cannot choose your graduation subject as your optionals. you can choose general subjects like political science, geography,history,sociology,psycology.all the best.

In particular there's no subject of IT field, still you can choose statistics and mathematics as your optional subjects.

there is no subject in IAS examination that means civil service examination like Information technology or computer based subject which is related to your stream of study.

till if you want to appear in civil service examination then you have to choose subject which is known to you and you have interest in that subject.

i think you should choose subject either physics or chemistry or mathematics. i think mathematics is the best. because in engineering you have deals with mathematics so many time. if first year you have studied mathematics so it may help you.

you may also choose physics. you have studied physics in 12th so this will help you a lot to do good examination if you choose physics. beside this subject also you have to choose one language subject for civil service examination.
