Dear friend,

It is good that you have started thinking about your IIT Preparation right after passing 10th standard.

Actually, it is the best stage for a student to start preparation for it.

IIT Syllabus comprises of both 11th and 12th standard syllabus.

So, you must study thoroughly your 11th and 12th standard.

You can't appear for IIT Entrance Exam just after passing 10th standard.

You must be at least 10+2 appearing or have passed to appear for IIT Entrance Exam.

However, now IIT-JEE entrance exam has been renamed as JEE Advanced Exam.

And for appearing in JEE Advanced Exam, you will have to qualify JEE Mains Exam.

And also, you must be in Top 20 percentile of your Board, then only you can appear for JEE Advanced Exam.

Upcoming JEE Advanced Exam will be commenced on 2 June 2013.

For more information, view this site: http://jeeadv.iitd.ac.in

However, Online Applications for JEE Mains is over now.

You can apply for JEE Mains '14 in November '13 through JEE Mains site: http://jeemain.nic.in

Some of the good books for preparation of JEE Mains Exam preparation are:

Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics: 35 Years IIT-JEE + 11 Years AIEEE (Paperback)
Author: Deepak Agarwal, Mamta Batra, O. P. Agarwal, Sunil Batra
Publisher: Disha Publication (2012)
Price: Rs. 675

Chapter-wise Solutions of AIEEE Physics with 10 Mock Tests (2002 - 2012) (Paperback)
by Expert Compilations
Price: Rs. 110

Chapter-wise Solutions of AIEEE Mathematics with 10 Mock Tests (2002 - 2012) (Paperback)
by Expert Compilations
Price: Rs. 140

Hi ,
Sorry you cannot appear for JEE MAINS just after passing 10th . You need to Pass 12th board exam with at least 50% marks in all subjects to be able to be eligible for the jee mains exam . So it is recommended to start preparation for JEE right after you go into 11th class. Also you need to have Physics , Chemistry , Maths in 12th to give the paper . So study two more years and work hard to go into IIT .
Good Luck For future !!

NO! You can't get IIT after class 10th.
First you have to clear your high secondary level studies from science stream with non medical subjects (physics, chemistry, and Maths)
...after this you are eligible for JEE entrance exam, which take place in 2 parts
a) JEE mains & b) JEE advance
.....first you have to clear jee mains to become eligible for jee advance.
After clearing jee advance you can study in IIT .
