Re: Can I do MBA after doing B.A in Economics?
Economics as a field has emerged and is now carrying a plethora of opportunities.
After completing your BA (eco), my suggestion would be to go for MA (eco) and then go for professional degree (MBA).it is said because doing a masters degree in one subject and then ging for a MBA you make you more preferable for getting a good job. Universities providing mba (eco) in India include: >>Jawaharlal Nehru University >>Hyderabad central university >>Jadhavpur University Normally students of economics have a good opportunity in abroad than in india. But the whole things depend upon parents’ consensus and your family’s financial position. >>University of Wales. >>Harvard university >>London school of economics >>Pennysvylania university You can apply for scholarships also . every outside universities have scholarships which help in reducing your financial burden to a certain extent. |

Re: Can I do MBA after doing B.A in Economics?
Yes it is quite possible to do Master in Business Administration after completing B.A. Economics. There are several entrance exams for MBA to choose from. However it would depend on how much percentage you got in the bachelor's course.
May I recommend that you pick MBA in Economics as it would be good option for you. You can however choose to go with other streams as well but my pick for you would be MBA in Economics. By choosing MBA in Economics you can find a good salary paying job in banking, finance, insurance, stock markets etc. There are various consulting firms and government agencies that would also be interested in hiring you. In the government sector Indian Economics Service and Reserve Bank are the best options. Some of the consulting firms where you can seek employment are: McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group Bain & Company Accenture Charles Rivers Associates Mathematica Policy Research NERA Economic Consulting To do Master in Business Administration you would require to appear in any of these entrance exams: MAT CAT XAT JMET RMAT Those who seek admission in Indian Institute of Management would require to appear for the Common Admission Test also known as CAT. To be eligible for CAT, you would need to complete bachelor's degree with at least 50 percent marks. In case you belong to reserve category then 45 percent marks are required. CAT Syllabus Quantitative Ability Verbal Ability Data Interpretation Data Sufficiency Logical Reasoning The other option I would recommend is Management Aptitude Test or MAT. This is good option for candidates who don't meet the percentage requirement for other exams like Common Admission Test. Such candidates can appear for MAT since there is no percentage requirement for the exam. Top MBA Colleges 1. IIM - AHMEDABAD 2. IIM - BANGALORE 3. IIM - CALCUTTA 4. XLRI - JAMSHEDPUR 5. IIPM - 6. FMS- DELHI 7. IIM - INDORE 8. IIM - LUCKNOW 9. ISB - HYDERABAD 10. IIM – KOLKATTA |
