i am from west bengal and have given my 10th and 12th exams from delhi. I want to know if i can get admission in NIT durgapur under state quota as my home town is in west bengal...??? I have given AIEEE 2011 from new delhi.plz reply.........

MY OVERALL AIR IN AIEEE IS 26053 AND GEN CATEGORY IS 20171 AND STATE RANKING OF WB IS 787 AND 734 RESPECTIVELY?CAN I GET ANY NIT OR GOVT COLLEGE?IF I CAN,IN WHICH STREAM?

HAVING WB(STATE)RANK 6000 AND AIR RANK 100000 WHICH COLLEGE CAN I GET ADMISSION 2011

Home quota rules-It is determined by the location of the state from which you did your XII. So If you did XII from Delhi your home state will be Delhi.
In my opinion this criteria in very good as there is no confusion about the state from which a student passes XII, there is no need for procuring domicile certficates.
Also domicile certificate are procured by few people from multiple places/states and they appear in many local state exams to avail benefit of admissions (which is an unethical practice).It also deprives meritorius students form admissions, so in my opinion all state exams in India should follow this rule for determining state/domicile eligibility.
