sir,i hv finished 12 th science and now i am doing diploma in computer engineering is there any jobs in banking after completing diploma..?
if yes, what will be the procedure for it?

diploma is not required for any bank job, but you can get bank job on the basis of your 12th qualification. for this you'll have to appear for IBPS exam, this is a centralized exam conducted by ibps for 20 nationalized banks attached to it. eligibility criteria is as below-

educational- 1. 12th pass with 60% or graduate.
2. knowledge of computer.
3. proficient in official language of state concerned.

age limit- general 20 to 28.
sc/st- 20 to 33.
obc- 20 to 31.
disabled- 20 to 38.


in case you want to appear for ibps-po exam you'll have to be graduate and lie in age limit of 20 to 30 years, with age relaxation for reserved categories same as above.

Diploma is not sufficient enough for the banking job. You will also have to complete graduation. While I do believe that you should complete graduation, I don't think banking jobs is ideal thing to do.

Diploma in Engineering course may get you jobs related to the field but with very limited scope of promotion and pay hike. Diploma holders are often suggested to do Bachelor of Technology post completion of the course.

You made the mistake of doing diploma after 12th. You should have picked it after 10th. After completing 12th you could directly apply for the bachelor of technology course by clearing entrance exam.

Anyway since you have taken diploma, I will suggest you to complete it and follow it by taking admission for B.Tech through the lateral entry scheme. This scheme will let you take admission in the second year of B.tech course.

For which you will have to score 60 percent marks in diploma which is the requirement for the Lateral Entry Engineering Test conducted for the lateral entry admission. There are other entrance exams as well.

After completing B.Tech you can decide to apply for the banking exam or any other job. Although I will suggest you to apply for job in Public Sector Undertaking or Indian Engineering Service entrance exam.

But the banking exam will also be possible. You can appear for the Bank Clerk and Bank PO exams by the Institute of Banking Personnel Services. But to be honest, Bank Clerk job is not worth trying for the engineering graduate unless struggling to find the job.


IBPS Bank Clerk/PO Eligibility

1. Must be the national of India.

2. Bachelor degree of at least 3 years is required.

3. For Bank PO exam you must have 60 percent marks in it.

4. No percentage criteria for the Bank Clerk exam.

5. A certificate in Computer operating skills.

6. If don't have one then Computer Science subject should have been studied during school or the graduation course.

7. Age limit - 20 to 28 years.


Age Relaxation

1. OBC - 3 years

2. SC/ST - 5 years

3. PWD - 10 years

Firstly thank you for choosing this forum to ask this question. Getting back to your question that are you eligible for banking jobs after completing your diploma, so firstly you have to decide that you are willing to join the national banks or the private banks.

After deciding that you have to make sure that your diploma is equivalent to a degree or not if not then you are not eligible for nationalized banks and it will be difficult for you to get into a private bank also.

If not then for the nationalized banks you can prepare for banking exams like IBPS, SBI,IDBI etc and for the private banks you have keep a tab on the vacancies in different banks and you can schedule your interview with the bank.
