Yes u can apply for different branch in M-tech as compared to B-tech. Only u need to fulfill the criteria required for the applied branch. Yes,You can study M.Tech in different branch than that of B.Tech.
But it is wiser to do M.Tech in the same branch.

You can always change your branch as per your interest but the only thing needed is to have your criteria for admission in that particular branch.
Being a student of EEE branch you can opt for the following branches:-
1. Power Electronics & Drives
2. Power Systems Engineering
3. Instrumentation & Control Systems

Hi,

You haven't mentioned your B.Tech branch.

Anyway , generally It is not possible for M.Tech. But you can apply in most similar branch for M.Tech.

For M.S. , your B.Tech branch doesn't matter , you can apply for course of your choice for M.S.

For EEE branch , following specialization are there:-

1)power systems
2)electrical drives
3)robotics
4)generation systems
5)Electronic designing
6)Microelectronics.
