If you have enough skills in programming, then you can try for a software job. The stream selected (EEE) is not a problem in obtaining such a job. Most of the MNC firms consider candidates in all streams at the time of recruitment. Minimum cut off percentage required in MNC’s usually ranges between 60 to 65%. If you can meet with their requirements, then you can expect selection.

As you have done B.Tech in EEE branch, you have a great scope in good companies.
TCS, IBM, Infosys which are the MNC companies which has been hire the engineering students for the posts like: Software engineer System analyses System designer Web developer Web designer networking field etc You have scored 73% marks in B.tech degree which is a very good thing but let me tell you the requirement of these companies are that candidate must be excellent in his/her academic career. They require: 1.60% throughout(10,12th and btech) and Infosys requires 70% throughout 2.Gap must not large than 2 years 3.At the time of recruitment interview candidate shouldn't have any backlog in any subject. Procedure of Placement test:Exam is conducted in 4 rounds normally. 1.Written Test:In written test logical reasoning(verbal & non verbal),mathematical aptitude and some technical questions are asked. 2.Group Discussion:In group discussion candidates are a given a topic on which all have to discuss in favor or in against. Here communication skills and thinking capability are checked. 3.Technical Interview:This is a face to face interview. In technical interview, basic programming concepts, database questions and networking concepts are asked by a group of interviewer. Your project is also very important and a number of questions are asked from it. HR Round:This is also a face to face interview. In this HR manager of company asks questions about salary expectations, future plans etc.. |

It is totally dependent on your interests and strengths. If you believe that you can be successful in the software industry then you can opt for software industry, otherwise you must go for the core. The money and the salary should not be the criteria according to which you choose the company. As if you excel in a certain field, then you can earn a lot of money and can easily overcome the other company's package.
The software companies are: Infosys Cognizant Comviva Sapient Microsoft Facebbok Amazon and many more The electronic companies are: NTPC BHEL DRDO ONGC DOORDARSHAN AIRTEL IDEA VODAFONE AND MANY MORE |

First of all i want to say one thing about you. Please maintain good clarity on your interest. Is software field is your interest or just for money sake.
Why iam saying like this is, today we are seeing due to recession lot of IT companies are unable hire employees. That to here you have to face a lot competition. So,you have to look in this perspective too. But one thing if you really having the zeal to do a software job. Then all these are not a matter. As you are from EEE background you just need to learn C, JAVA courses from institutions.Try to learn the basics of those properly. Try to attend on/off campus drives.Initially you may no get perfect job as you like. But you need to maintain patience 1 or 2 years. Then search for a good job in mncs like wipro,infosys.. etc. ALL THE BEST. |

If you are not interested in the field of Electronics side, better you would have opted for your
B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering or Information Technology But you did not do that. Now also, you can make entry into Software companies but all the companies will not accept EEE candidates. But good thing is that when the MNCs in the field of Software come for campus placements, they will definitely makes eligible all the candidates irrespective of their stream in B .Tech to attend for the recruitment procedure. You can apply for such kind of On campus recruitment Off Campus recruitment The eligibility criteria to attend for the recruitment procedure would be -You should be a candidate of career 60 having scored minimum of 60% of marks in all your academic levels. -Your academic gap should not be more than 2 years. -You should not have any pending backlogs in your academics. The selection procedure may involve Written Exam Group Discussion Technical Interview HR Interview It would be better if you gain knowledge on at least C language and better if you have knowledge on Java. If possible, try to gain Oracle knowledge also in the sense SQL and PLSQL. You should be good enough in communication skills to get the job. They will check like how confidently you are giving the answers. Wish you all the best. |
