Re: Career options for electrical engineers in Indian Air force
Being an electrical engineer for joining Indian Air force you have the option of becoming officer for which you need to clear CDS examination.
CDS stands for Combined Defense Services and the same examination is conducted twice every year by Union Public Service Commission in two stages which are called as Written examination and Service Selection Board interview respectively. Also CDS has four wings which are Naval Academy ( NA ), Indian Air force Academy ( AFA ), Indian Military Academy ( IMA ) and Officer's Training Academy ( OTA ). For appearing in the same examination you need to have the qualifications as given below :- * You must have the nationality of India. * You need to have the physical and mental toughness as per the requirement norms. * Your age must be over 19 years for all the four wings but it must not exceed 22 years for NA, 23 years for AFA, 24 years for IMA & 25 year for OTA wing. * Also you need to have the bachelor's degree course with Physics or Mathematics or engineering course as your main subjects from a recognized university for joining NA & AFA wing. But for IMA & OTA, there is no bound of stream of academics. Final year students are also eligible for the same examination. For further queries regarding the same examination you can log on to the official link of UPSC i.e; www.upsc.gov.in.. |
