Re: Colleges in India offering B.Tech in Astrophysics? Entrance exams and eligibility criteria?
hello friend,
As far as I know, there is no college in India, offering courses in astrophysics in undergraduate level. This course can be pursued as specialization in Master's degree or in Phd/research programs. That is you can study it in the post graduation level. For that you must complete your graduation in physics with good qualifying marks to study with astrophysics. Here are some top ranked institutes offering M.Sc and Phd in astrophysics: 1.Punjabi University, Patiala, 2.Osmania University - Full M.Sc. Course in Astronomy & Astrophysics, 3.Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Allahabad, Bangalore, Burdwan, Kolkata, Delhi, Gauhati, Gorakhpur, Gujarat, 4.Indian Institute of Science, Jadavpur, Kashmir, Kumaon, Lucknow, 5.Madurai Kamaraj University, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam 6. Indian Institute Of astrophysics, etc.. To get admission to these institutes you have to apply for the particular institute you want admission. All the best! |

Which is a better option to pursue career in Astrophysics: B.Sc. in Physical Sciences in a recognised Indian university and then going for M.Sc. in Astrophysics, or proceeding to an M.Sc. in Physics and then going for Astrophysics at the post-graduate level??
