After doing B.A in Geography, your friend will become a Geographer, not a geologist.

For Geologists:

A lot of scope is there after successful completion of bachelor course in Geology
Government and private sector both employ geology students. Research and exploration work or surveys are conducted by both sectors which require the services of trained and well educated geology students. Teaching is also a lucrative option for students.
