SYLLABUS:-

SYLLABUS SECTION – I
1. Materials and components
Structure and properties of Electronic Engineering materials, [shal]Conductors[/shal], Semiconductors and Insulators, Magnetic, [shal]Ferroelectric[/shal], Piezoelectric, Ceramic, Optical and Superconducting materials. Passive components and characteristics, Resistors, Capacitors and Inductors; Ferrites, Quartz crystal, Ceramic resonators, Electromagnetic and Electromechanical components.

2. Physical Electronics, Electron Devices and ICs
Electrons and holes in semiconductors, Carrier Statistics, Mechanics of current flow in a semi-conductor, Hall effect; Junction theory; Different types of diodes and their characteristics; Bipolar Junction transistor; Field effect transistors; Power switching devices like SCRs, CTOs, power MOSFETs; Basics of ICs-bipolar, MOS and CMOS types; Basics of Opto Electronics.

3. Network theory
Network analysis techniques: Network theorem, transcient and steady state sinusoidal response, Transmission criteria: delay and rise time Elmore’s and other definition, effect of cascading. Elements of network synthesis.

4. Electromagnetic Theory
Transmission lines: basic theory, standing waves, matching applications, microstrip lines; Basics of waveguides and resonators; Elements of antenna theory.

5. Electronic Measurements and instrumentation
Basic concepts, standards and error analysis; Measurements of basic electrical quantities and parameters; Electronic measuring instruments and their principles of working: analog and digital, comparison, characteristics, applications. Transducers; Electronic measurements of non-electrical quantities like temperature, pressure, humidity etc. Basics of telemetry for industrial use.

6. Power Electronics
Power Semiconductor devices, Thyristor, Power transistor, [shal]MOSFETs[/shal], Characteristics and operation. AC to DC convertors; 1-Phase and 3-phase DC to DC Convertors.
AC regulators. Thyristor controlled reactors, switched capacitor networks.
Inverters: Single-phase and 3-phase. Pulse width modulation. Sinusoidal modulation with uniform sampling. Switched mode power supplies.

1. Analog Electronic Circuits
Transistor biasing and stabilization, Small Signal analysis. Power [shal]amplifiers[/shal]. Frequency response, Wide band techniques, Feedback amplifiers. Tuned amplifiers. Oscillators. Rectifiers and power supplies. Operational Amplifier, other linear integrated circuits and applications. Pulse shaping circuits and waveform generators.

2. Digital Electronic Circuits
Transistor as a switching element; Boolean algebra, simplification of Boolean functions, Karnaugh Map and applications; IC Logic gates and their characteristics; IC logic families: DTL, TTL, ECL, NMOS, PMOS and CMOS gates and their comparison; Combinational logic circuits; Half adder, full adder; Digital Compartor; Multiplexer Demultiplexer; ROM and their applications. Flip-flops, R-S, J-K, D and T flip-flops; Different types of counters and registers; waveform generators. A/D and D/A convertors. Semiconductor memories.

5. Microwave Engineering
Microwave Tubes and solid state devices, Microwave generation and amplifiers, Waveguides and other Microwave Components and Circuits, Microstrip circuits, Microwave antennas, Microwave Measurements, MASERS LASERS; Microwave Propogation. Microwave Communication Systems-terrestrial and satellite based.

6. Computer Engineering
Number Systems; Data representation; Programming; Elements of a high level programming language PASCAL/C; use of basic data structures; Fundamentals of computer architecture processor design; Control unit design; Memory organization. I/O System Organization. Personal computers and their typical uses.

7. [shal]Microprocessors[/shal]
Microprocessor architecture – Instruction set and simple assembly language programming. Interfacing for memory and I/O. Applications of Microprocessors in Telecommunications and power system.

SECTION-III General ability test
The candidate’s comprehension and understanding of General English shall be tested through simple exercises. Questions on knowledge of current events and of such matter of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. Questions will also be included on events and developments in Telecommunications, History of India and Geography. These will be of a nature, which can be answered without special study by an educated person.

BSNL JTO EXAM


If it is February 2011, you can expect the BSNL JTO 2011 notification (Junior Telecom Officer) any time from now. Considering that the 2009 and 2010 JTO Notifications were released in the month of February, you can expect the same to happen in year 2011 too.

BSNL JTO 2011 Notification :


Since the JTO notification 2011 is still to come, lets take a look at the previous two notifications (the eligibility remains the same).

In 2009, BSNL announced the JTO recruitment notification to fill 3591 vacancies. And in 2010 BSNL JTO notification, the number of vacancies were 3945.

To be eligible for the written test, the candidate must be over 21 years of age and be less than 30 years. Age upper age limit is relax able by 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

The total vacancies under JTO 2011 will be divided into JTO Telecom, JTO Civil and JTO Electrical.

For JTO Telecom 2011 examination, one must have an Engineering/Technology degree in any of the following streams Electronics, Telecommunications, Radio, Computers, Electrical or Information Technology.

For JTO Civil 2011 examination , one must have a Civil Engineering degree.

For JTO Electrical 2011 exam , one must have an Electrical Engineering/Technology degree.

Note that Candidates who are in their final year can also apply for the written test provided that the said educational qualifications will be attained by the end of the year in which the notification was released (or by that date as decided by the management).

For example, for the BSNL JTO 2011 notification, candidates who are in their final year engineering in 2011 can apply, if they get their Degree’s by the end of 2010 (or by that date as decided by the management).

Application should be sent to the CGM’s of respective Telecom circles. See this article for BSNL JTO 2011 Application form.

An All India competitive written exam will be held in the month of April/May 2011. Selected candidates will be called for Interviews. Above JTO Notification 2011 is tentative only , it may change as per www.bsnl.co.in

For Direct Recruitment of Junior Telecom Officers(Telecom), an objective type Examination of 3 hours duration consisting of following sectional papers will be conducted:

The notification of the BSNL -JTO exam is not yet coming.IT will be coming in the month of March 2011 and it will be posted on the official website of BSNL or employment newspaper.so if you want to know the final date of JTO exam then regular visit the official website of employment.

--The notification for JTO-2011 is not published but it is expected to be published in
either February or March.
--The eligibility criteria is as follow:
-Age Limit:
-Age limit for BSNL-JTO exam is the same as in UPSC exams.
-GEN: upper age limit 30 years
-OBC: 3 year relaxation
-SC/ST: 5 year relaxation
-Educational Qualification:
-A B.E./B.Tech. degree in
Telecommunication, Electronics, Radio, Computer, Electrical, Information Technology
for Telecom section
-B.E./B.Tech. degree in
Civil Engineering for JTO-Civil section.
-B.E./B.Tech. degree in
Electrical Engineering for JTO-Electrical section.
Candidates who are in final year of B.E./B.Tech. are also eligible to apply
provided that they complete their graduation by December of the year.

--c) Age: The applicant should not be more than 30 years of age on the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates. However, this age is relaxable as per standing instructions on this subject for:-

i) Govt. servants upto 5 years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Govt.;

ii) BSNL employees upto 5 years in accordance with the instructions or
orders issued by the BSNL;

The notification for the JTO examination conducted by BSNL

is not published yet. It will soon be notified in employment news

and national dailies. Generally it comes in mid-March or start of April

and the examination tooks place in June month.

The syllabus for the examination is attached with this message.

the notification for BSNL JTO examination for 2011 is not published yet. it will be published soon in the leading newspaper and in the bsnl website http://www.bsnl.co.in


there are three types of post in BSNL JTO examination and the examination for different department are different.
JTO(CIVIL)
JTO(Electrical)
JTO(Telecom)

The notification of BSNL JTO of this year is not published yet.

The streams which you can apply for BSNL JTO are:

electrical

civil

telecom

The candidate must possess an Engineering degree in one of the following disciplines from a recognized university.
[final year students can also apply provided they can show their proof of passing by the time decided by the company]

Telecommunication

Electronics

Radio

Computer

Electrical

Information Technology

AGE: you should not have crossed 30 years.

5 years age relaxation in case of SC/ST, Govt. employee, BSNL employee.

3 years age relaxation in case of OBC.

10 years in case of PH general candidate(13 years for OBC PH, 15 years for SC/ST PH).

the notification will be publishes soon and the exam will be on the mid of 2011.

as you already know that for JTO post a candidate must have a B. TECH. degree.
in frist section a candidate must give written exam.
then the selscted candidate CALL FOR THIER INTERVIEW.

BSNL JTO Exams Notification Are Not Declared.

SYLLABUS

SECTION – I

1. Materials and components
Structure and properties of Electronic Engineering materials, [shal]Conductors[/shal], Semiconductors and Insulators, Magnetic, [shal]Ferroelectric[/shal], Piezoelectric, Ceramic, Optical and Superconducting materials. Passive components and characteristics, Resistors, Capacitors and Inductors; Ferrites, Quartz crystal, Ceramic resonators, Electromagnetic and Electromechanical components.

2. Physical Electronics, Electron Devices and ICs
Electrons and holes in semiconductors, Carrier Statistics, Mechanics of current flow in a semi-conductor, Hall effect; Junction theory; Different types of diodes and their characteristics; Bipolar Junction transistor; Field effect transistors; Power switching devices like SCRs, CTOs, power MOSFETs; Basics of ICs-bipolar, MOS and CMOS types; Basics of Opto Electronics.

3. Network theory
Network analysis techniques: Network theorem, transcient and steady state sinusoidal response, Transmission criteria: delay and rise time Elmore’s and other definition, effect of cascading. Elements of network synthesis.

4. Electromagnetic Theory
Transmission lines: basic theory, standing waves, matching applications, microstrip lines; Basics of waveguides and resonators; Elements of antenna theory.

5. Electronic Measurements and instrumentation
Basic concepts, standards and error analysis; Measurements of basic electrical quantities and parameters; Electronic measuring instruments and their principles of working: analog and digital, comparison, characteristics, applications. Transducers; Electronic measurements of non-electrical quantities like temperature, pressure, humidity etc. Basics of telemetry for industrial use.

6. Power Electronics
Power Semiconductor devices, Thyristor, Power transistor, [shal]MOSFETs[/shal], Characteristics and operation. AC to DC convertors; 1-Phase and 3-phase DC to DC Convertors.
AC regulators. Thyristor controlled reactors, switched capacitor networks.
Inverters: Single-phase and 3-phase. Pulse width modulation. Sinusoidal modulation with uniform sampling. Switched mode power supplies.

SECTION-II
1. Analog Electronic Circuits
Transistor biasing and stabilization, Small Signal analysis. Power [shal]amplifiers[/shal]. Frequency response, Wide band techniques, Feedback amplifiers. Tuned amplifiers. Oscillators. Rectifiers and power supplies. Operational Amplifier, other linear integrated circuits and applications. Pulse shaping circuits and waveform generators.

2. Digital Electronic Circuits
Transistor as a switching element; Boolean algebra, simplification of Boolean functions, Karnaugh Map and applications; IC Logic gates and their characteristics; IC logic families: DTL, TTL, ECL, NMOS, PMOS and CMOS gates and their comparison; Combinational logic circuits; Half adder, full adder; Digital Compartor; Multiplexer Demultiplexer; ROM and their applications. Flip-flops, R-S, J-K, D and T flip-flops; Different types of counters and registers; waveform generators. A/D and D/A convertors. Semiconductor memories.

3. Control Systems
Transient and steady state response of control systems; Effect of feedback on stability and sensitivity, Root locus techniques; Frequency response analysis. Concepts of gain and phase margins; [shal]Constant[/shal]-M and Constant-N Nichol’s Chart; Approximation of transient response from Constant-N Nichol’s Chart; Approximation of transient response from closed loop frequency response; Design of Control Systems, Compensators; Industrial controllers.

4. Communication systems
Basic information theory: Modulation and detection in analogue and digital systems; Sampling and data reconstruction. Quantization & Coding; Time division and frequency division multiplexing; Equalisation; Optical Communication: in free space & fibre optic; Propagation of signals at HF, VHF, UHF and microwave frequency; Satellite communication.

5. Microwave Engineering
Microwave Tubes and solid state devices, Microwave generation and amplifiers, Waveguides and other Microwave Components and Circuits, Microstrip circuits, Microwave antennas, Microwave Measurements, MASERS LASERS; Microwave Propogation. Microwave Communication Systems-terrestrial and satellite based.

6. Computer Engineering
Number Systems; Data representation; Programming; Elements of a high level programming language PASCAL/C; use of basic data structures; Fundamentals of computer architecture processor design; Control unit design; Memory organization. I/O System Organization. Personal computers and their typical uses.

7. [shal]Microprocessors[/shal]
Microprocessor architecture – Instruction set and simple assembly language programming. Interfacing for memory and I/O. Applications of Microprocessors in Telecommunications and power system.

SECTION-III General ability test
The candidate’s comprehension and understanding of General English shall be tested through simple exercises. Questions on knowledge of current events and of such matter of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. Questions will also be included on events and developments in Telecommunications, History of India and Geography. An All India competitive written exam will be held in the month ofApril/May 2011. Selected candidates will be called for Interviews. Above JTO Notification 2011 is tentative only , it may change as per www.bsnl.co.in

JTO 2011 Syllabus will defer for all three stream Electrical, Civil and Telecom. Generally Computer guys can also give JTO as Telecom Syllabus. For clearing BSNL JTO 2011, one has good knowledge of whole engineering subjects and should have quick answer as JTO 2011 would have MCQ system (Multiple Question and Answers ).
