The co. secretary course is divided into 3 parts-
1. C S FOUNDATION COURSE
Eligibility:
Senior Secondary (10+2) Pass candidates in Arts, Science & Commerce Streams (excluding Fine Arts) are eligible for admission. Duration of the Course is 8 months. Provisional admission is allowed subject to submission of proof of passing Sr. Secondary Examination (10+2) within six months. Admission is valid for Three years.
Subjects:
a. English & Business Communication
b. Basic Economics & Business Environment
c. Financial Accounting
d. Elements of Business Laws and Management
e.Information Systems and Quantitative Techniques
Qualifying Marks
A candidate is declared to have passed the Foundation, if he/she secures at one sitting a minimum of 40% marks in each paper and 50% marks in the aggregate of all sub.
2. C.S. INTERMEDIATE COURSE
Eligibility:
CS Foundation Pass. Arts, Science, Commerce/Non-Commerce Graduates(Excluding Fine Arts) are eligible for registration. Candidates not be less than 17 years of age. Candidates possessing any of the following qualifications are exempted from passing the Foundation Examination:
A degree or master’s degree in Corporate Secretaryship or Commerce
Pass in Final examination of ICWAI or ICAI or any other Accountancy Institution in India or abroad recognized as equivalent thereto
A degree or master’s degree in any discipline other than Fine Arts

Company Accounts and Cost & Management Accounting
Tax Laws
Management Information Systems and Corporate Communication
Group-II
Company Law
Company Secretarial Practice
Economic, Labour and Industrial Laws

A candidate is declared to have passed the Intermediate, if he/she secures at one sitting a minimum of 40% marks in each paper and 50% marks in the aggregate of all subjects.
3. FINAL COURSE
Eligibility:
A student is admitted to the Final examination only after a minimum period of nine calendar months since his passing the Intermediate examination.

Company Secretary Eligibility

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India or ICSI conducts the company secretary course in 3 parts, namely, Foundation course, Intermediate or executive course, and Final or professional course.

Eligibility for Foundation Course - The minimum educational qualification required to apply for a company secretary foundation course is 10+2 in any stream. Students who have appeared in their class XII exam and are waiting for their results are also eligible for the course. However, the final year students have to produce pass certificate within 6 months from the time of admission. The foundation course is of 8 months duration. After completing the Foundation course, the students can apply for the Intermediate course.

Eligibility for Intermediate/ Executive Course - Gradutes of all streams except Fine Arts are eligible for a company secretary executive course. Candidates who are qualified in Foundation course and are below 17 years of age can also apply for executive program.

ICAI and ICWAI students, graduates, post graduates can take direct admission into Intermediate without having the need to complete Foundation course.

Eligibility for Final/ Professional Course - After having qualified in the Intermediate course, a student is eligible to study the final course.

Company Secretary Training - A student who has passed the executive or professional course has to undergo the management training of 15 months either in the companies sponsored by the institute or under the guidance of a Company Secretary in practice.

Company Secretary Admission

Admission for a company secretary course takes place round the year. The admission procedure consists of two stages: registration and an entrance exam. The students are required to fill an application form that can be obtained on payment of 200 rupees cash or 250 rupees by DD payable to Institute of Company Secretaries of India New Delhi. After successfully registering themseleves, the candidates have to appear in an exam, which will be held in the months of June and December for both foundation course and intermediate course. The candidates who are 12th passed can apply for the Foundation course exam while the graduates can directly apply for the internediate program.

Company Secretary Entrance Exam

The Company Secretary or the CS entrance exam is conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. The CS exam can be taken twice in a year, in the months of June and December and the registrations for the same have to be done within 25th March and 25th September respectively. The registrations are open throughout the year. The registration can be done online or one can also the registration forms from the ICSI branches. The online application forms can be downloaded from the institute's official website http://www.icsi.edu/ Candidates who submit the forms late will have to pay a late fine.

Entrance Exam Fee

For one module: INR 750
For two modules: INR 1,500
For three modules: INR 2,250
For four modules: INR 3,000
