Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university

Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs.

Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs.


Physical fitness criteria for IPS-

Ladies should not be pregnant at the time of Medical Test.

Ear- good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment shd not be more than 30 decibels.

Nasal- candidate should not stammer while speaking.

Civil services exam is the entrance exam for IPS. The test comprises of written test, physical efficiency test and interview. Written test is conducted in 2 sections, prelims and mains. Mental ability, English, Indian Polity, Constitution, World/India Geography, etc are asked for prelims. Optional paper, general studies, English language, etc are asked for mains exam.

There is no specific exam as IPS entrance Exam.

IPS stands for Indian Police Service and to become an IPS officer, one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam, conducted by UPSC once every year.

Eligibility Criteria for IPS, Civil Service Exam:-

-The candidate must be an Indian National.
-Should have either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University.

CSE is conducted by UPSC every year to make recruitments to 24 services/posts.
