Dear Friend,

First of all sorry to say but i just want to inform you that no one can get entrance in the Indian Police Services right after passing the 12th std.

So there is no importance of 12th percentage when it comes to get selection in the India Police services.

In order to get entrance in IPS , you need to qualify the Civil Services Exam and for which the Minimum Educational qualification required is Graduation in any discipline from any recognized college/university.

Also , there is no need of any specific percentage in graduation too to be eligible for the Civil Services Exam as the UPSC just require a pass degree in graduation.

Along with the Indian Police Services , you can join the below mentioned services too through clearing the Civil services Exam :

* Indian Administrative Services

* Indian Economic Services

* Indian Foreign Services

The selection Procedure of IPS Entrance Exam :

1) Preliminary Exam

2) MAINS Exam

3) Personal Interview

The candidates have to pass all the three stages in order to crack the civil Services Exam.

The Qualifications Required for Civil Services IPS Exam are :

** Nationality :

>> The candidate must be an Indian. OR,

>> A Subject of Nepal. OR,

>> A Subject of Bhutan.

## Age Limit :

## Number of Attempts :

a) For General Candidates : 4

b) For OBC Candidates : 7

c) for SC/ST Candidates : No Limits

This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want.

Dear There,

IPS stands for Indian Police Service. To be an IPS officer candidate have to take up the Civil Service Examination conducted by the UPSC every Year.

According to the rules and eligibility criteria you are not eligible for Civil Services Examination.

The required eligibility criteria a candidate must fulfill are as follows:

* Candidates must have Graduation Degree in any stream from any recognized college/university.

* Candidates in the final year of Graduation are also eligible to apply for this examination.

* UPSC has not set any percentage bar for this examination.

* Age must be in between 21-30 years for general category candidates.

OBC candidates have been granted 3 years relaxation in upper age whereas SC/ST candidates have been granted 5 years relaxation in upper age.

* Citizenship - Indian.

* Fitness - Medically Fit.

Stages of Civil Services Examination:

* Prelims

* Mains

* Interview

As you have seen above the first eligibility criteria a candidate must fulfill is graduation. So there is no any chances to take up this examination by clearing 12th board with whatever marks.

This is the all I have for you.

Thanks.

IPS stands for Indian Police Service. The exam for selection is known as Civil Services Examination. It is conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). This exam is also conducted for IAS, IFS etc.

The role of IPS officer is to maintain law and order in the state. IPS officers work under the state governments. They are given different departments like Crime branch, anti terrorism, intelligence etc.

If you have completed 12th standard then next step is to complete graduation. Marks scored in 12th standard or even in graduation are irrelevant to apply for the Indian Police Service.

The marks are not considered. You simply have to complete the course. Therefore complete graduation before thinking about applying for the Indian Police Service. There is no special graduation course to apply for IPS. In fact you can pursue any course like Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce etc.

IPS Eligibility

1. Only Indian citizens are eligible for it.

2. Those who have completed graduation can apply.

3. There is no minimum marks criteria.

4. Your age should be 21 to 30 years.

5. The relaxation in upper age limit is 3 years for OBC.

6. Relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST.

Physical Requirements

Height

1. For female the criteria is 150 cm

2. The criteria for Male is 165 cm.

3. There is 5 cm relaxation for Schedule Tribe candidate.

Chest

1. Male: 84 cm with 5 cm expansion

2. Female: 79 cm with 5 cm expansion

Selection Process

1. Preliminary Exam

2. Main Exam

3. Interview
