hi,
IAS STANDS FOR Indian Administrative Service.

IPS STANDS FOR INDIAN POLICE SERVICE;-

ELIGBILITY FOR IAS/IPS EXAM;-
Minimum education criteria = Graduate
Maximum age criteria = 28yrs (for General category and I think it is 32 years for SC/ ST categories)

You have to apply for UPSC (Union Public Services Commission) exam. Notification for the same is done by the Govt.Gazette and in the Employement New and Rozgar Yojana news papers (available on weekly basis in newstands).

Once you apply, you have to take the Prelims exam in a subject of your choice and General Knowledge. This is a subjective paper. Once you get through the Prelims, you have to write the Main Exam (again subjective), but you have to choose 2 main subjects (eg. Physics and Political Science etc).

After you clear the Main exam, you need to take the Group Discussion and then the interview.

Based on the overall ranking and your choice of cadre, you will be provided IFS (Indian Foreign Service), IAS or IPS. The higher your rank, the choice is with you.

In case you have not not got a good rank and got into IFS, IAS or IPS, you may still become a Group A or B officer in the Central Govt.

All the best!

HI

Following is the eligibility for appearing for Civil Services Examination, conducted by UPSC

- You should be Indian
- you should have done your graduation from recognized college/institute
- your age should be between 21-30 year
Relaxation of 5 year for SC/ST and 3 year for OBC as per government norms

As per the eligibility, nothing has been mentioned about the percentage. So you are eligible even if you just passed your graduation

All the best

first of all u have to make command on your main subject which u want to take as main subject in upsc exam and thenafter study that subject very deeply and clear all doubts related to your main subject. NCERT is most important for upsc exam u must have read the NCERT books of class 6th to 12th of arts side like political science. ...start writing easy and read the Hindu news paper. ...I think it enough for you.

There is no specific percentage required for the UPSC CSE examination, you just have to complete your bachelors degree. After graduation when upsc examination application forms released by government then you have to apply for upsc. You can give then upsc prelims examination which is only qulified examination.
Books to be referred :
First of all you have read all subjects ncert.
For history you can read Spectrum,
For polity you can read M. Laxmikant,
For economics you can read Ramesh Singh book
Thise are some books that you can referred for upsc cse.
