For the appearing for the NET exam it is a must that you should have atleast 55% marks. So since your score is higher than this you can appear for this exam. You have to select the subjects that you studied in your post graduation which is commerce. So opt for the subjects that you will be comfortable in. You have time till next December to prepare for the same. Applications should be available after September.

halo there...i wonder if the minimum qualifying points in the ist & 2nd sect. are 40 each, then how could a candd. secure 100 in aggregate-i & ii.it meanz if he/she securrs 40 points each,he is qualified, but if he doesn't obtain 100 in agg. he is disqualifed,,,it is dishonest.it should then be 50 points each.

National Eligibility Test (NET) is a central level exam which is taken by candidates interested in college lectureship and PhD. University Grants Commission conducts this exam for central government therefore only candidates who have completed post graduation from UGC recognized university are allowed to appear for the exam.

The exam is conducted twice a year. You can not appear this year now. You will have to apply for the June 2013 exam or the December 2013 exam. If you intend to appear for the exam next year then it would be ideal to start the preparation now.

5. Final year students of post graduation course can also apply.

6. The age limit for Junior Research Fellowship is 28 years for General

Upper Age Limit Relaxation

There is 3 years relaxation for OBC.

SC/ST gets 5 years relaxation.

7. There is no age limit for candidates appearing for College Lectureship.

8. No limit on number of attempts.
