I have successfully completed my post graduation in Botany. I want to know whether i can give NET exam or not?

Yes, you can appear NET exam which stands for National Eligibility Test .The candidates those who are interested to became a lecturer they can appear NEt exam to get recruit as a lecturer in a Govt College as well as a private college.

You have completed post graduation degree in Botany so you are eligible for UGC NET exam.

NET stands for National Eligibility Test.

The educational qualification required for NET exam is masters degree from a recognized university with above 55% marks. 5% relaxation is given for SC/ST category candidates. Final year student are also eligible for NET exam.

There is no age criteria for NET exam but for JRF posts, your age should be below 28 years.

Marks distribution for each papers of NET Exam:-

Section 1 - 100 marks(60 questions are there)
Section 2 - 100 marks(50 questions are there)
Section 3 - 150 marks(75 questions are there)

Yes you can apply for NET Examination with graduation in Botany and actually you need to complete Mater's degree from any course. Otherwise you are not eligible to apply for NET Examination.

Eligibility criteria of NET Examination :

<> You should complete Masters with minimum 55% of marks from the recognized university for both gen and obc candidates.

<> There is a relaxation of 5% for SC/ST candidates in Mater's.

<> Age should may vary from JF to Assistant Professors

For JRF -- You should not cross the age below 28 years.

For Assistant Professors : No Age limit.
