the pattern of CSE is changed

prelims exam is replaced with CSAT (Civil services Aptitude Examination)

and remaining two stages that are like mains and interview are continuing in same

In UPSC 2013 New Syllabus,there is no change in Preliminary Exam(CSAT) Pattern but changes has been made in Mains Exam.

New Syllabus for Mains Exam of UPSC 2013

PAPER I :-

• Section I - Essay . It will be of 200 Marks.
• Section II - English Comprehension and English Precis . 100 Marks.

PAPER II :- General Studies I of 250 Marks.

• Indian Heritage and Culture.
• History and Geography of India.

PAPER III :- General Studies II of 250 Marks.

• Governance.
• Constitution.
• Politics.
• Social justice.
• International Relations.

PAPER IV :- General Studies III of 250 Marks.

• Technology.
• Economic Development.
• Bio Diversity.
• Environment.
• Security and Disaster Management.

PAPER V :- General Studies IV of 250 Marks.

• Ethics.
• Integrity.
• Aptitude.

PAPER VI & VII :- Optional subject Paper I and II - Each of 250 Marks.


Personality Test - 275 Marks.
