What is the difference between home board examination and board examination?

Do I have to study the syllabus of both the terms of class 10 for board examination

No there is no difference in the academics or syllabus of both board based examination and school based board examination of Class 10th.

The only difference between the both is the center of second sumative as in the case of board examination the student has to go to the center provided by board for giving their board examination where as in the case of school based examination the examination is held in the school in which the student reads.

The selection for either of two is completely based on the students choice. But In my view I would suggest you to go for the board based examination as any other entrance examination or board examination are of these types only and hence the prior experience of this type of examination will boost one's confidence in that case.
