dear sir i have done mba and also given ugc net exam in commerce so can i eligible for phd ?? i have done mba in finance and marketing and i have given ugc net exam in commerce with subject marketing. i m also qualified ugc net jrf exam. but some teachers saying that u should done ugc net in management because i m from mba so please sir guide me..

Before appearing for an exam or undergoing a training for a course you need to decide what you would like doing as a career. Since you choose JRF exam looks like you are interested in research more than teaching. In that case you can very well take up a PHd. course. There will be a lot of advise coming in from various people. You need to decide based on what kind of career you are looking for.

I have done BSc IT and MBA IS(Information System) from Sikkim Manipal University Distance Learning Program.Also I am pursuing B.Ed. from DDU Gorakhpur University.I like to become a excellent professor in reputed university.SO I want to know that can I am eligible for UGC-NET and also tell me if I want to enroll in Phd program in IT or IS stream than from where I could do it?Can it is equivalent to JRF program?Please help me with detail about it.

yes you are eligible for Ph.d. however it seems you are getting confused about your career choices .... so please first of all you decide based on your interest what you want to do in life... my suggestion would be"suno sabki karo apni"
only then you wont have to repent 10 yrs down your career that you should have done something else.Remeber Ph.d. takes 4-5 years of your life.Make a firm decision

YOU CAN DO IT SINCE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA SAYS.. MASTERS IN THE SUBJECT APPEARING OR IN RELATED DISCIPLINE. MBA students can appear in NET in the subject of their specialization, or in management, commerce,economics or any related subject therein

Hello, I have done MS(Insurance) from ICFAI University. Have applied for UGC NET exam for June'2011 in Management. That is the o nly relevant subject for me. Is it ok that I have selected Management.

The candidates must have finished Master's degree with 55% aggregate.For SC/ST/VH/PH candidates it is 50% aggregate.
The candidates must appear with the subjects of their post graduation only.

Important Dates:

Date of UGC NET examination: 26th June 2011

Date of UGC NET Notification : 30.03.2011

i) Last date for Applying On-Line 25th April 2011

ii) Last date for receiving the documents at the test center: 2-5-2011

i have qualified NET under management for dec 2010. but didnt go through JRF, why is that.i have opted for both and this time they specifically say its equal marks... NExt question is am attending June 2011 test for JRF in HRM subject. Will the first NET in managemnt be disqulaified if u get in HRM.

I completed MBA Marketing. I have 10 years experience in Marketing. I wish to write NET examination since I like to get a job under UGC scale.
A few people say that there are only a very few colleges under UGC in Kerala where there is MBA. So even though a candidate is passed NET exam in Management,there is no chance to be placed in Kerala.And one of my friends suggested me to take MCOM as private and then to write NET in Commerce and the chances of getting placed are high. Please guide me what to do?Or is it good that if I do PHD in Marketing will it be more good to get into a college?

Yes..after completion of your MCA you can go for both private sector and govt sector.So after completion of your MCA you can go for govt sector.

If you are completed your MCA then don't worry you have the wide range of opportunities.

After MCA you can go for top MNC's like

TCS
Wipro
Infosys
Google
HCL
IBM etc..


And you can go for some of the govt jobs like

Banking sector
Railways
SSC
Defense services
Civil services etc.....
