Hi, I am a Bsc. biotechnology graduate. i have done my MBA(HR) CORRESPONDENCDE from Panjab University Chandigarh. Am i eligble for UGC-NET? Does a degree recieved by studying off campus, cancles my eligibility? If I am eligible can i opt for the UGC-NET exam in HR field? Please reply asap.

NET Stands for National Eligiblity Test and this examination was Conducted by UGC Twice in a year and to apply for this examination you need to be a post graduate in any discipline form a UGC Recognised University.

>> And It was not mentioned in the official website that only Regular candidates are apply for NET Examination, So it means if your university is UGC Recognised then you are eligible to apply for NET Examination, But i am Not confirmed, so its better if you can contact the UGC Concerned Department, they will guide you properly.

>> But for this examination only post graduate candidates may apply.

>> So, If you have scored minimum 55% marks in your MBA Course then you are definitely apply for NET Examination, the examination was Held in june and december, The june NET Examination was already completed and those who missed the June NET are eligible to apply for December NET Examination.

The Notification of December NET Examination was Going to be Published in the month of September 2011 and the examination was going to be held on 24/Dec/2011, Those who satisfied the educational qualification are apply for this examination Online.

Examination fees of NET was Rs 450 and you have to pay the fees through challan form in SBI and then you can fill the NET Application form Online by visit the UGC Official website.

After MBA (distance) , you are eligible for NET exam but your degree must be from UGC approved university.

But if your degree must be UGC approved then you are eligible.

Those candidate have completd masters degree from recogniged university are eligible for NET exam.

For general and OBC candidate must be hold 55%above in masters degree. SC/ST candidate must be hold 50% above in masters degree.

Part time course are not eligible for NET exam.

For Junior research fellowship course your age must be in between 19 to 28 years.

For lectureship ,There is no upper age limit but the Minimum age is 19 years.

NET exam is conduct because of govt college lecturer and PHD entrance.

If you have scored a minimum of 55% marks in your MBA, you will be eligible to apply for the National Eligibility Test for Lectureship.
However, if you belong to SC/ST category, you will be eligible with a minimum of 50% marks in the same.
Since you have pursued MBA in Human Resource, you will be eligible to write the Human Resource paper, because as per the UGC guidelines, candidate must have studied the particular subject in the masters degree program to write it in the National Eligibility Test.
As you have mentioned that you have done your MBA through correspondence from Punjab University, you should not worry because you are still eligible for the test. Punjab University is a recognized university and the degree offered by it is considered equivalent to degree offered by any other recognized universities.
